As you can see I changed the forum software. I did it because a friend gave me one of his unused licenses. I was having problems with phpBB on the server so I decided I'd change to see if this software will be better. I have no experience with it so we can all learn as we use it. I also found an database online and have imported it to here. Before I imported the stuff I emailed the owner, I got her email address from the database, and asked if she knew it was available online. She did and said I could do what I wanted with it. Most of the stuff is old and some links are broke, but, I figured fuck it any content is good to have.

I have acquired a community that I was a member of a long time ago. In an attempt to build up my portfolio of sites again I am proud to announce the acquisition of Microsoft Bulletin Boards formerly know as Microsoft OS Forums.

I know I was active here. What happened to my old posts? Where they removed for something I did?

Off Topic Forum has moved to a new server. The new server will be more responsive and will alleviate downtime issues that the site had in the past. The move was also done so that I could keep all the sites I've acquired on one server under my control. Look for more announcements as my network grows. These are exciting times for me as well as users of my forums.

Since the heavy lifting is done, new software, new styles and broken things fixed it's time to move on to the more subtle changes. I'll try to keep track of everything in this thread. Go through sticky threads and update/remove them as needed. Come up with a plan for a contest to get long time members back to the site and posting. As part of the above incorporate a new member drive into the contest. If you have any suggestions on what to do to not only bring the members back, but, also bring in new members let me know. If you can think of any new features you'd like to see let me know that too.

I think you should have a light style for us that have a problem with dark colors.

This weekend I will be moving the site to a new server. Cloaked has hosted us since I purchased the site and now it's time to move to our new home. I would like to thank Cloaked for giving me the time to find a place to host the site.

I am pleased to announce that I have purchased Off Topic Forum. I know the site has been neglected for a long time and I plan to change that. In the next few weeks I will be starting a posting contest and membership drive. Prizes will be listed in another announcement as soon as I get confirmation from the sponsors. Once I get a few things fixed and add some new features I'll start up the contest. When I do I will email all the members. Make sure to let the people you met as a member here know that Off Topic Forum is back and will not be neglected any longer.

Hello site admins- I have posted several times however my posts do not seem to show up, and I receive a message that my post must be approved first. Do you manually review all posts, and if so, when do you normally post the content- Daily, weekly, monthly etc? i'm new to the site so just trying to understand how it works here. Thanks, Kurt L.

As you can see a lot has changed. The community was converted to a new more modern software called XenForo. The gallery was imported to new gallery software which is an add on for XenForo. All of your posts and content is still here. There are many new options and features and through the course of the next few days I'll be highlighting a few of them. Your member account password should work. If it doesn't then use the lost pass link to get a new password emailed to you. I would like to introduce myself to the community. I am the new owner of LinkinParkForums. I purchased the community from coredump this morning. My name is Bob and I've been running forums since 1996. Some forums I've owned over the years include http://www.xtremevbtalk.com/ and http://extremetechsupport.com.
