Whenever I go to web sites for job testing, I usually have to install Javascript in order to do testing, as it is an audio file to be transcribed by me. For some reason, my computer always blocks these sites, so I am not able to do the testing, which is interfering with finding a job on-line. Continue reading...

When clicking on the icon I get a message that the operation is restricted. Its my home PC and I have system admin rights. I have a new Win 7 computer with the latest security pack. MSE cam pre-installed (it was a cuatom build). Has worked fine for past 3 months, Also had Malwarebytes preinstalled on machine from day 1 and this didn't interfere. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSE. After doing this, Icon opeining worked fine until the next time I restarted machine and then I couldn't get into it again. I've run a scan for other antivirus programs using Appremover. It checked for partial installs and found something in German at "90%" and removed it. Only com…

XP sp3 and Remote Web Workplace
by Guest Wutty3- 0 replies
I installed XP SP3 and was unable to gain access to my workstation at work via Remote Web Workplace. Whenever I select a computer from the list of available clients, it is unable to download the Remote Desktop Activex Control because of security settings preventing the download. I set the security to allow all activex controls (which shows a nag about unsafe security settings) This kills the Remote Desktop Activex....message but then an "invalid server name" error pops up. Only resolution offered was to delete a registry key that was non-existant in my registry. I am able to use RWW with my XP SP2 laptop with no issues. Home Computer AthlonXP 3200+ 1gb ram 2x…

Google Analytics/DNSChanger Trojan
by Guest Ron210642- 0 replies

On a regular basis (but not always) we get a pop up in IE9, apparently from our wireless router, that relates to 'Google Analytic'. It asks for passwords etc. A bit of a search on the net could suggest this may relate to a DNSChanger Trojan? However I assume that this particular trojan (and it has a number of names) is stopped by MSE? MSE appears to function correctly with updates, scans etc. We also scan using Malwarebytes and nothing unusual is detected. I would appreciate some guidence on how to stop this pop-up. We do have 'pop-ups' disabled. Continue reading...

Don't know what virus protection to choose?
by Guest Twinkytwink- 0 replies

What I imagine virus protection being is a big buff warrior protecting my castle (which is my computer). He goes and slays the mighty malware with his magical delete button and then throws the Trojans in his magical quarantine box of doom for future punishment. Now but not all of these warriors are free like Sir Security Essentials, no no no some of the other warriors up for hire like McAffee and Sir Norton cost money to run but do the exact same thing as Sir Security Essentials. But there is one other terrible virus out there are spies these spies that you download are Trojans because they say that they are protecting you while the load your computer up with viruses.....…

IS it possible for somebody to add networks to remotely add a network to my computer, they so...

It is kind of a two part question: First how much info can they get when they've done this, my passwords are all encrypted but if they are doing that they could probably get around that too. Now the second part, and no BS please, as an avid member in my community (which is sadly degrading), I've notice a lot of new drug traffick. Is it possible that law enforcement is monitoring our networks for our safety, for I've also noticed we now have two full time undercover security guards or police working in the Complex now and we already have 3 uniforms here at all times. Clashing observation was that it was literally 5 min before the occurences began when a new network pop…

Yesterday MSE located & then removed this trojan from my pc. I went to the MS web page for a description but there is very limited information about it and I am curious to find out what this particular infection will do. I am not an expert but since it says 'Java' does this mean that it can compromise eg banking which use Java within security log ons?. Would appreciate advice. Thanks Ron Continue reading...
