Hi - I have a piece of Delphi source code here that is calling the 'qwinsta' utility and parses its output, in order to detect the presence of a Remote Desktop login session. This has always worked well on Windows XP (except on some XP-Embedded images where 'qwinsta.exe' was not pre-installed). Now I have a new Vista x64 Ultimate system. I have verified that 'qwinsta' is installed, and it works properly from a command prompt. What I really hate about Vista's security obsessed behavior, is that this often strikes and hinders at the most innocent and unexpected areas: E.g. after having installed a couple of applications I found that there were now simply too many entries in the start menu (requiring too much scrolling and searching) and so I wanted to restructure the menu by collecting certain items into submenus. While I was able do create the menus this stupid OS doesn't allow me to move certain entries into these. Which moron came up with that brilliant idea that a user should not be allowed to modify his own start menu??? Even if he is a member of group "Administrators"!?! …

I am looking to "Deny Access To This Server From The Network" across multiple servers for a single User Group. However... If there is a way to do this and still allow them to print through the servers, that would be great. Otherwise I'll have to set up those folks to print directly to a printer, or set up a different print server for them. I also would like to confirm that if I do make the Deny setting change, will the Users in the specified User Group still be able to authenticate to the network through those servers? Thanks!

I tried to retrofit a "windows XP" machine into a Windows Vista machine for the past 2 days. My problems including no sound and no modem and a machine that wouldn't boot with a new sound card or an external USB device attached to it. I can live with the failure of retrofitting. But I can't live with the following: For some reason , known only to Microsoft and / or Symantec, both "vista machines" want to share my music library.
