I want to install spam and virus filters in the internet based systems in my office. My work involves a lot of downloading from the net, and therefore always run the risk of viruses affecting the operating systems. I want an economical security service provider with state-of-the-art security techniques. -- edwardwalker

Transitioning from 32 bit to 64 bit
by Guest Neil Jones- 4 replies
Hello, Currently I have a 32-bit Vista Ultimate on my laptop. Very soon I plan to get a laptop with 64 bit processor. In my current setup, I am doing complete system backups daily. The new laptop will come with a licensed Vista Ultimate. I have several applications installed and configured on my current 32-bit Vista and would hate to lookup all the license information for these applications and reinstall all the patches. Is it possible to transfer selectively some of the backups to the new Vista? Any idea how to best transition from 32-bit to 64-bit Vista? Thank you in advance for any help/advice. NJ

There is a way around that Crypt32.dll or oem32.dll or any file along the line of it yes you can do a repair of windows xp and it's possible and it has been done on a machine that i had to repair from you all known as blue of death of a crypt32.dll file by using the windows reinstallation disc not any other sort of methods that you all think of but using the windows os disc of xp do a full repair and it will rewrite crypt32.dll after you do a fullreboot to the cd it self by not going to safe mode, safe mode to access dos or some other things there is by booting to the installation cd and do a full repair but not a fresh copy yet. After you do a Repair then Do …

Open File - Security Warning
by Guest Vista Frustrations- 5 replies

I get this annoying warning when I open and .exe file. The warning gives me the option to deselect the 'always ask when opeing this file', but it reappears the next time I open the file and the warning is reselected even though I already deselected it. The warning has a help link on the bottom ' how can I decide what software to run' and all the help links talk about is downloading which has nothing to do with this warning dialog box. How do I get rid of this annoying security warning on this file. If I go to properties for the file, there is an unblock option which I select and apply, but it too reappears the next time I open the file properties.

by Guest Rod- 2 replies

Hi I keep all my applications on C Drive and all my documents and music etc on D Drive. I am the sole user of my PC so only have my name and Password as individual and Administrator. Today, somehow, I could not access files or folders on my D Drive. I have to, on each Folder AND then every FILE, right click/properties/security, reassign "User/Rod" as the Owner of the Folder, OK , then Security/Permissions/edit, give full access/Apply/OK to every folder AND every individual file in every folder. I have 100 or so Folders and 10,000's of files. IS there a way I can simply get back permissions to view, edit, open, save folders/files en masse? Drivi…
