by Guest ByDesign1977- 0 replies

Hi Since upgrading from IE6 to IE8 we have a number of users who are finding that they are having to request new personnal certificates from certain websites. Does IE8 handle these certificates in a different way to IE6 or should the certs already installed simply carry over and work with IE8? The users are on Windows XP SP3 in case that has any bearing on this. This is causing a number of issues that I simply don't have the answers for so if anyone could advise that would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your asistance. Continue reading...

Windows 7 wont detect my monitors or allow me to manually change drivers
by Guest Paul Cull- 0 replies

I'm running RC 1 32 bit on a pre-historic Asus A6U notebox with 1.6 ghz Turion and two gigs of RAM, and am really impressed with it overall. However, it doesn't seem to detect either the built-in monitor (15.4" LCD) nor an external Philips 170S LCD monitor which I am also using, and loads default drivers (it has both a default PNP and non-PNP driver installed). My video card is SIS M760 and Windows 7 informs me that the driver is up to date. I have tried installing the Philips 170S driver but it doesn't get associated with either of two screen which appear when I set screen resolution, nor am I able to replace or update the driver at that point. My Philips LCD sh…

FLV Splitter making almost crash my PC when downloading
by Guest lapc506- 0 replies
I'm trying to download some files .flv from certain website, but Internet Explorer 9 slows down my PC, and I've found something quite interesting: When I checked this on ProcessExplorer, that FLVSplitter.ax file came from my C:\Program Files\K-Lite Codec Pack\Filters folder. But I'm not runnng any video requiring K-Lite codecs to OPEN, and IE9 is just using that filter because it's downloading FLV files. EVEN IF I DON'T PLAY THEM, WHY DOES IT WASTES MEMORY ON MY MACHINE? Why has IE9 to use those filters while downloading? Is the problem within IE9 (as I suposse)? Or inside the filters? How can I STOP IE9 usin…

How to make drive partition SMALLER or split it into two
by Guest djalan2000- 0 replies
I am looking for an easy way to change my primary partition (which uses the entire drive) to one that is half that size so that I can setup a dual-boot with both XP and Win7. Is there a way to make the partition SMALLER or cut it in half? I have plenty of space on it that will likely never get used. Oh, of course I am looking for a way that does NOT involve reformatting the entire drive and/or losing my data. Continue reading...

Excel 2010 Data Table Bug Report
by Guest MrMatthewJacobson- 0 replies

I'm working on homework for my college coursework. We're running simulation models which require a lot of logical statements to be used, and thus a lot of long formulas. After I made one simulation, I was ready to run it 1000 times in a data table under what-if analysis in the data ribbon. I accidently put in the wrong information, and as I went to correct it, I chose the top left cell and started deleting the information from the cell without realizing what would happen (I know that it was the wrong way to go about deleting the table, but it was just instinct). Once I removed all the information and clicked out, an error box appeared saying "You cannot change information…

I used system update to update from SP2 to SP3. Now the system cannot recognize the hard drive. I got a SP2 CD from Microsoft to try to reinstall SP2 and find the problem, but I get a screen that is not in the instructions that the MS tech gave me. Is this a known issue, and how do I repair my system if I can't get it to boot? Continue reading...
