Using VB6 PDW & Deploying with "WinZip Self Extractor", I need toinstall in a way that software Runs
by Guest viglen- 1 reply

Hi, I'm using VB6 PDW and Deploying the installation files with "WinZip Self Extractor". I noticed that the "WinZip Self Extractor" has a wonderful feature of starting and running the "setup.exe" of the installation in Vista as a Administrator, if you wish to choose this option. I really need my software to install and run as an administrator in my clients' Vista machines otherwise some features will not work. The question is: If I make sure the Setup.exe is ran as Administrator, so the software installation process runs as administrator, does that mean that the software will be installed as an administrator ? If not, please give me some ideas of how …

Almost every time I run SuperAntiSpyware on my WinXP SP3 computers, it finds Adware tracking cookies, which I delete as suggested. From what I can see, they return almost immediately when I visit certain websites. Are they dangerous? Is there any way to avoid them while still going to those sites? Thank you! Jo-Anne

I have a client with a stand alone vista workstation that would like to block almost all websites from anyone using the laptop. I don't use workstation level products and this is a case outside my normal scope - can anyone recommend a product that allows an Admin to setup permitted sites for "user" level accounts on a vista workstation? -- - Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum. - Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist" spam999free@rrohio.com (remove 999 for proper email address)

Researchers have identified a new strain of malware that can spread rapidly from machine to machine using a variety of infection techniques, including the poisoning of webservers, which then go on to contaminate visitors. The malware is a variation of a rapidly mutating virus alternately known as Virut and Virux. It has long proved adept at injecting itself into executable files, which are then able to attack uninfected machines through network drives and USB sticks. The variant, which Microsoft is calling Virus:Win32/Virus.BM, is also able to infect web scripts based on languages such as PHP, ASP, and HTML. Servers that become infected include an ifra…
