I have tried all the steps and finally come to a conclusion. The best thing to do is to get your restore CD, then backup all your important documents and do a system factory restore. Try it worked for me. Good luck. EggHeadCafe - .NET Developer Portal of Choice http://www.eggheadcafe.com/default.aspx?ref=ng

Hi, I've been getting attacked today. Basically what is happening is as follows: 1. I have a running instance of the Apache webservice on my Windows Box where I'm developing a website under localhost. 2. The HTML page that I'm working on is constructed by a number of XSLT and XML files running in the client, in fact most of the page is constructed on the client. Much of the page is constructed via transformation of RSS and Atom. 3. There are a number of complicated Javascripts. Not all of the scripts are owned locally, but the non local ones are owned by google. the nonlocal ones are jQuery as hosted by google, http://www.google.com/jsapi , and the google …

What makes the Windows Firewall Authorization Driver (mdsdrv.sys) unavailable? How to renstall this driver? I cannot locate this driver under Device Manager (view>show hidden devices>devices by connection). I think this is the cause of my WF problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. by Guest AliceZ- 2 replies

I have Vista Premium sp1 and when I went to the Critcal Updates today there was a download for Defender, which I downloaded. However, there was an Optional download for: "Realtek RT8102E/8103E Family PCT-E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)" If I remember correctly, I saw a similar download some time ago, but don't know what my husband did with it. Just what is this Optional download and do I really need to download it? Very confusing these Optional downloads. Thank you Alice

Malwarebytes issue
by Guest Jo-Anne- 2 replies

My desktop computer runs WinXP SP3 (fully patched) and Norton Internet Security 2008. Suspecting that I had acquired malware, I updated the SuperAntiSpyware definitions and scanned my computer. No infections were found. I then updated Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and tried to scan with it. I tried three times, and each time it stopped scanning at a file in C:\WINDOWS\Installer\. The first time it stopped at 67db4d.msp, the second at 67dc35.asp, and the third at 67dc13.msp. It also wouldn't let me abort the scan. It simply locked up. I had to close down the computer to get rid of it. I ran the program in Safe Mode, and it completed the scan. It found no …

802.1x and domain authentication
by Guest Westcort- 1 reply

Hello everyone Currently I am trying to implement 802.1x in our test environment. Currently I am using a Dell PC6224 switch as the authenticator and using a win2k3 IAS server which is part of my test domain. I am using EAP-MSChapV2. I am using Window XP to test my setup and 802.1x authentication seems to work when i manually enter the username/password/domain name when the network icon ask for a password. When trying to log in from the login screen from XP it seems to not be able to authentica correctly and would not allow my test user to login. Upon checking my IAS log it seems that XP seems to be authenticate the local account instead of the domain account. …
