secedit output
by Guest Lucy- 0 replies

Hi I am trying to backup the current security settings using secedit from the command prompt. What should the expected output be? I am entering the following command and I receive the following output: Secedit /generaterollback /cfg /hisecws.inf /rbk backup.inf. Allows you to generate a rollback template with respect to a configuration template. The syntax of this command is: secedit /generaterollback /cfg filename /rbk filename [/log filename] [/quiet] /db filename - Specifies the database used to perform the rollback. /cfg filename - Specifies a security template with respect to which a rollback template is generated. Disk Encryption with TrueCrypt and Backups
by Guest Neil Jones- 4 replies
Most companies these days are using disk encryption on their laptops. I am planning to use TrueCrypt for my laptop. The question I have now is about backups and the system restore procedures. I do my backups to an external disk and am assuming that the complete system backup is also going to be an encrypted image. My main concern is about the restore session. If I do have to restore my laptop from the backup, then how does the disk encryption crypto tools such as TrueCrypt work? Thank you in advance for any information. NJ

Norton Insight

I have read http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Prot...hout/ba-p/20642. However, being the view of the seller of the product it is bound to be somewhat biased. It would be interesting to hear from users just how it works (or not) and any practical concerns. (BTW I don't have access to an appropriate Symantec NG so can't post there!) Bill Ridgeway

Need Advice to form outbound rule -Vista, WindowsMail and Symantec
by Guest homerat- 3 replies

I need help forming an outbound rule for the firewall in vista home premium 32 bit. I am using Windows Mail, and the Windows firewall, and Norton internet security 2008. I don't use the Norton Firewall. I have turned on the outbound firewall and have been creating rules for Firefox, Skype etc. this works ok. But Windows Mail is being blocked, because the virus scanner in Norton is not allowed to proceed. After creating a rule for Windows Mail, if I turn off Email scanning in Norton, then the mail connects thru the firewall ok. My principle problem , and what I seek advice on, is that I cannot figure out which Norton program or service to allow in a rule.…

by Guest Chuck25- 4 replies

I pay my phone bill through bellsouth.com. On the webpage, I click "login" and "pay bill" then it takes me to the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. I tried to access bellsouth on my brothers computer but no dice. I notice that we have Charter internet. Then I access on a non Charter computer and I access my info. I email bellsouth and they said there system is okay and so did charter. Also, the charter tech said it might be my windows firewall. Anyone have any issues similar to mine?

Kerberos tickets
by Guest lobezno- 1 reply

Hello, I'm workin with kerberos tickets and Constrained delegation. Is it viable that for an Explorer navigator to reuse a ticket kerberos that has been negotiated (on behalf of another user) between an ISA Server and an IIS Server, to call that IIS Server with that Authoritation? It means: we have created a ticket kerberos inside ISA (custom webfilter), this ticket is delegated to an IIS, and a SQL Server after (simple kerberos constrained delegation), but in the response, there is no ticket returns to the client (internet explorer). This is possible?? Thanks!
