I have to log in before I shut down. Is there a setting that allows me to shutdown without log in? Non-admin can't shutdown at all. Is there a setting to change that? RunAs Admin Shortcut
by Guest ChrisA- 2 replies

I want to run Sysinternal's ProcExplorer from the Start menu. Since it needs Elevated permisions, and snice I'm trying to run as a reg. user, I get propmpted for creditials everytime I login. I thought I could create a Shortcut that Elevated the target, but I can't figure it out. Since ProcExp is a trusted app (by me), it can run without As Admin. I'm looking for the UNIX run as owner file attribute, or something equivalent. Thanks

I have a virus Cryp_Xed-3
by Guest Bob Havens- 2 replies

I am using Windows XP Home with all the latest updates and SP3. Trend Micro PC Cillin is my AV program. I also have Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware. Several days ago when I was web surfing my AV program detected Cryp_Xed-3. I think the virus may have executed since the computer shut down by itself. Since then I have been having trouble opening IE (Version 6). I have run the full AV program, Spybot and Adaware and nothing helps. Sometimes I can get on IE but most of the time I can't. I get an error report window. As near as I can tell the problem is confined to IE. Other programs seem to work OK. I was able to copy the file name from the error…

How does domain isolation with Windows 2003 IPsec happen?
by Guest Simon- 1 reply
Hi all, I have a question regarding implementing domain isolation with IPsec support from Windows 2003 (or higher.) From the examples online, you only need to join a few machines into the domain and they are magically protected from outsider attacks and eavesdropping. I am wondering how exactly this should be configured, especially using a group policy distributed from the domain controller. How should I write this policy in the domain controller? The most naive way is to list all the IP addresses of all the domain members in a filter list, and apply "secure" action to this filter. My questions is, what if a new computer joins the domain or someone left? …

BackGround I have a web server called portal.myc.local I must implement Kerberos Constrained Delegation, to impersonate the end user in a downsteram application (on another server). I am using kerberos, to authenticate users (for SharePoint). I have my SPN as HTTP/portal.myc.local MYC\apppoolaccount This is working well. For external access, public DNS has mycompany.com registered to me, and I have my public DNS pointing to portal.mycomany.com and for testing right now to my webserver I have created a wildcard SSL certificate for .mycompany.com (Using SELFSSL) (When I move along, this will be secured via ISA server in my DMZ, the certifacate will…
