I am trying to perform a TPM_Seal operation on some data. My platform is Vista SP1 and the chip is Infineon (TPM 1.2) On Calling the TPM_Seal operation the TBS is returning a strange error code of 0x80280401 which is "Invalid Handle". The key is already loaded in the TPM and Im using the same handle returned by the TPM. Most of the other operations are fine including use of OIAP / OSAP sessions and / or any other key. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Malware Removal Tool kills Explorer
by Guest Hewitt- 2 replies
After installing Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool (KB890830 v. 2.0), Explorer lost connectivity to the server. I received no report from the tool. On reboot, my Zone Alarm virus checker said it was unable to recognize the network and offered to reestablish the network. I agreed. Outlook Express anounced it was no longer the default mailclient and asked if I would like it to be. I agreed. But I cannot get new email, because, says Outlook Express, "the connection to the server failed." Explorer still cannot connect to the internet. I have run through the connection troubleshooting and everything checks out as just fine, including pings…

Windows security center pop up
by Guest Markup- 7 replies

Hi There I wonder if anyone could help me? I have the most annoying windows security center pop up (about 500x600 pixels) appearing on my screen every few minutes telling me that I have no virus protection ( I have ) and asking me to go along to a choice of two paid for virus protection program retailers, one of which caused no end of trouble with a machine recently. I did consent to this, did not ask for it and nor do I want it but I cannot find a way of removing it from my machine. I have opened the security center and changed the way it notifies me to no avail. I have also ran START>RUN>SERVICES.MSC and disabled the security center - no joy…

I said to Peter Foldes ......... "perhaps you can help me understand why there are hundreds of posts here entitled 'ClusterSentinelNNTPPostTest' with the 'poster' being user@domain" PF usually knows the answer to most things, but this obviously has him stumped (or he's been busy elsewhere). Can anyone here explain matters? If so, I'd appreciate your view. TIA. Dave

Unwrapping security on a 2003 server
by Guest Dave Sinclair- 0 replies

Hi Everybody/Anybody I have inherited a small network (2 x 2K servers & 2 x 2003 servers). DC1 is a 2K machine and DC2 is a 2003 machine. My Microsoft experience stopped in the year 2000 so I was good up to NT 3.51. The previous IT did not leave any information on how anything is/was setup. DC2 has been locked down/hardened (what ever terminology you are happy with) or hacked (the previous IT was a Linux geek). Our main administrator (could have been renamed?) account cannot access DC2 (only DC2, I have full acces to any other machine on the network) and I have tried all active directory accounts but nothing lets me into DC2. For example, there is …
