   HI ! I downloaded this file/folder thinking that I would get to SEE some nest-o fireworks & all it has done is slow down my computer & NO matter what I do, it won't delete ! I think it is a BUG !

   Hi, I have a vb script file which does some thing like putting some files in program files folder and tweaking registry entries etc. How can I run this script as Administrator by default with out right clicking the cmd and then selecting the "Run As Administrator" Please help...    Hi, I want to make sure I don't miss something. Here is what I want to do; - Prevent any domain users to be able to copy any documents (or information) from the server (from mapped drive) to a removable disk, usb key, floppy, etc.... I know that even though it is doable they can still send by e-mail but I'm not there yet. For now we are in the process of disabling the burning feature of xp and software restrictions policies but to be able to prevent information theft the best way possible would be nice. I think there is a microsoft product that does that but can't remember which one. Any ideas would be appreciated. note ; sbs 2003 server with all …

   i have vista ultimate 64 bit and have trouble with CA INTERNET SECURITY SUITE,it is a virus and spyware program from road runner you get free.it is 32 bit and i cannot get the virus protector to work right.i chatted online with a ca helper and he said i have to upgrade to vista 32 bit.is there another way to get it to work without upgrading? mark0325

   cannot delete font file off desktop

   I made the mistake of transferring a font to my desktop to install. It says that the font file is not a valid font file. But now I can not delete, rename, or move this file (Script MT Bold.ttf). I had two other fonts on the desktop, but was able to delete them after taking ownership of the protected file and then assigning rights. Thank you

   I am unable to do update under Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bits. The systems keeps telling me they are update, but I can't download them and I receive a messager error "WindowsUpdate_800B0100 ". Does anyone has the same problem and find a solution. Thank you

   Just quick question how to uninstall Gmer scanner correctly: it installs gmer.exe, gmer.dll, gmer.sys, gmer.ini, gmer_uninstall.cmd files. For uninstalling, there was specified to run C:\WINDOWS\gmer_uninstall.cmd script and reboot. This gmer_uninstall.cmd script contains: sc delete gmer del system32\drivers\gmer.sys del gmer.dll del gmer.exe pause I done, this open dos prompt with info. But when I looked in Windows folder, I still find there gmer.ini and gmer_uninstall.cmd files. Can I remove this files safely?

    Cross posting from micorosft.public.security.crypto: I need to issue some certificates to my terminal servers so I can secure RDP sessions. I want to use the negotiate TLS and I want to get rid of the warning messages from the new RDP client. I've been having a difficult time issuing a certificate which will have all the names I need for a particular server. The default certificate only includes the FQDN of the server which is not too smart in my opinion because locally connected machines use the common or short name or ip address to connect up.     I get an error 1297 when I try to start the firewall service on any machine. I need to have it started to use remote access. What needs to be changed on the Domain controllers to fix this. The error says a privilege that the service requires to function properly does not exist in the service account configuration.

    I had Norton2007 and the security center was running absulutly fine simultaneously, as the firewall and the antivirus of norton is shown under ' window security center' but after i installed McAfee the problem started, the Window security center cant be started as the job is done by McAfee Security center. I uninstalled the McAfee antivirus but couldnt able to unistall the 'McAfee Security Center' and the 'Windows security center is not starting up.     We have a .NET/C# application that is required to start automatically as soon as an user logs on to their PC. It is well known that Vista blocks applications that requires admin privileges (ours does and it specifies that via the manifest) to automatically start on logon. Our problem is looking far more serious. We launch our admin- demanding app via a batch file and put _that_ batch file on startup. This works in that the app now starts fine at startup but it really really really really slows down the application to a crawl. However if I back out of the admin privilege and publish the app with a manifest with just asInvoker, everything is just fine and dand…

    Hi there, As a Vista Ultimate user, I was wondering if there was any way of "locking" the "User Account Control" window that pops up each time I try to open or install a program that needs Administrator permission? At the moment it pops up all over the Desktop. I want it to popup in the middle of the screen.     I have a very strange looking folder under my C:\WINDOWS folder, which if it is not a trojan then it must be some kind of device driver install that went very bad. I would like help identifying what it might be. The folder is named: C:\WINDOWS\EFUZEJYDIXC1AZ4D and it contains copies of many Windows system files. The problem is, that this certificate is not shown in the certificate-selection when i try to establish an SSL connection with client-auth. The certificate is installed in the local user-certificate-store. Other certificates, such as my private Thawte-Certificates are shown. This problem occurs also with Firefox.     Firewall not loading on start

    Xp Home. I've just started using Windows Firewall, after uninstalling a 3rd party firewall. I enabled the service and started Windows Firewall. Rebooted. Checked theough security center -- it said no Firewall was enabled. I enabled it. What am I doing wrong? I want the Firewall to start immediately, since I am on cable. Also, there seems to be no notification whether Windows Firewall is working or not. I'd like a task bar icon. Is that possible?
