Vista and Panda Titanium
by Guest rtdavide@yahoo.com- 4 replies

Hell, I don't know if this is the right place for this or not, but I can't get any help out of Panda at all, so i'm kind of grasping right now.... I use Vista Ultimate with Panda Titanium as my AV/Firewall. Panda is causing my IE to sometimes lag 40 seconds in opening up pages. On average, it's about 60 percent of the pages I open that lag this much. pages that run ads and such are pretty much a given. I run the same panda AV on my XP machine and it doesn't lag this bad. And if I turn off Panda, pages load up without delay. So it is definately Panda causing the problem.... or is it Vista?..... I'm not sure what exactly I'm after except to somehow cha…

I am have to select self monitoring to negate the annoying pop up message. I have uninstalled AVG and reinstalled with no effect. O.S. = Vista home premium 32bit. Does anyone know what the cause is and how to correct it?

Hello Amanda, I hoped you would get an answer to this, because I have a familiar problem. But I think you won't easally get one because you might give them more information, what machine are you on, what operating system, when do you meet your problem. What did you do to solve your problem? How far did you get. You can find some posts where an answer like this is given and links for further information. I hope that your question is discovered soon, permissions is a difficult issue, quite a challenge for the profs. -- Live services get better and better! General safety issue.

Hello dear members, When I installed my computer I found the standard Windows firewall in Vista premium. I trusted this and did not want to slow down the system by adding an other firewall. Besides, this policy also was discouraged by the helpfiles that came with the system. Virusprotection was not done by the system, so advisable to install a virusprotection tool. I read a lot on the net on that item and finally installed Avast antivirus. So far so good. Had no troubles from oktober 07 till a week ago. Than I decided to destall Avast and to install One Live one care. The critics did not take me to this. But I think it is a good policy to have the saf…

hello, I have a rather complicated setup: - Vista SP0 (localized unfortunatelly) - logging on with a domain user (may be from cache when offline) - CDMA dial-up connection using a login of a form: 5849490303@o2....cz - giving me 10.166.1.x - NetBIOS disabled - VPN connection to a company network using a login of a form: domain\user - giving me 10.2.x.x - NetBIOS disabled - Use default gateway on remote network: ON - workaround (hotfix requested, not having arrived yet) of the NetBIOS file sharing problem made according to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933468 Once I dial CDMA and also the VPN, this is a fact: - ping "dir.domain.local" works correct…

Heads UP!!! If you are removing McAfee, it is almost impossible to remove all the registry entries, processes, and program installs. Search their web site and get the removal tool to completely remove it. "Jase" wrote: <span style="color:blue"> > Grr! Ipremove.exe? Vista firewall works protecting or not?
by Guest Jerry- 8 replies

I have 2 questions: 1 i got a message from the comodo firewall telling me that a trusted file wants to acces ipremove.exe. I cannot find any info about the ipremove.exe on the whole internet.. anybody familiar with this> 2: Is the windows (vista) firewall indeed now also blocking as well incoming as outgoing traffic. This info i got from a dutch website and i donot know if that info is corect. Does this make if the info is correct the firewall trustable enough or do i still need another one>? Somehow i can hardly believe that windows creates a firewall and that that then is not working good enough and that one then needs to use another one..? …

CLM client reports - Invalid Smartcard Serial Number
by Guest WesE- 4 replies

I am having a trouble getting my install of CLM 2007 w/ FP1 working. From the CLM client (running on Win XP SP3) I am trying to read a Gemalto .NET smart card. The message I get is "Invalid smart card serial number. Smart card information not available for the suppield smart card." The Gemalto utilities have no problem reading the card on this host. I am not sure what to make of this message - presumably the CLM client read the card, did some analysis and had a problem with s/n? Really I would like to know if it is a message I can ignore or not. This is a new deployment of CLM in a lab setting, new cards, no certs have been issued yet. Thanks, -Wes
