I just want to download the Windows NT Backup Restore Utility for Windows 7 so I can run my backup (.bkf) from my external hard drive as follows How to Use a BKF File BKF files are backups created using the NTBackup utility in Windows XP. These files could easily be opened on old XP computers to restore your data, but Windows 7 computers don't have any software capable of handling them. In order to open a BKF file, you'll have to download the Windows NT Backup Restore Utility for Windows 7. This utility is available from Microsoft at no charge through its Support Center. But i cant even get to stage one and run the validation tool. Nothing happens when I click…

I cannot send mail after a forced update to windows live essentials, can it be fixed?
by Guest NewsBot- 0 replies

I have done the forced update to my windows live essentials and now I cannot send e-mail. I can recieve but I cannot send. I spent weeks dodging the update by starting it and then cancelling it after it would start but it finally would not let me into my mail if I did not run the update, I have done the update several times with no change. I have done a system restore and that worked for a bit but again it would not even let me in without the update. It does not show up in the Windows Updates, so I cannot turn it off. I recently lost all of my past e-mails during one of the update reruns, I was going to Format my Computer to start again but after reading some other po…

mouhid.sys problem
by Guest NewsBot- 0 replies

My Win 7 system died completely after awaking from sleep, downloading some update, installing and rebooting. Now it goes directly to a blue crash screen. It will not boot under any boot option at all. Straight to blue screen crash dump. I booted with logging enabled and the last driver to be loaded was mouhid.sys. (I put the drive in a new machine to look at it). The program size was 30.5K, which according to what I have read is off by 2X. I tried to download and replace the file thinking that if this was a trojan, maybe I could get the machine to boot. Win 7, will not allow me to chage the file, even though it is the I drive, and I am the administrator. It…

Vista Business 32bit All recommended updates through 26JUN2012 From Windows Update dtd 26JUN2012 Until today 01JUL2012, MSE failed to update and there were no warning signs. Today 01JUL2012 The Security Center 'went RED'.. I reenabled, updated, and scanned PC with Windows Defender. My solution / fix / work around, after 7 failed update attempts, and reboots, was to uninstall MSE, Reboot, and Reinstall MSE. MSE easily installed, updadet and completed a full scan. I/O Error when trying to read larger SD cards
by Guest NewsBot- 0 replies

I have a Compaq FS7600 PC that I bought in Dec. 2005. I have Windows XP Home Edition V 2002, Service Pack 3. I have McAfee Anti Virus Software installed and running. The problem I'm having is that I wanted to use a 16 or 32 GB SD card to back-up my files. My PC will read the old 1 or 2 GB SD cards but won't read the larger ones. It gives me an I/O error. Can I download something that will make the computer recognize the larger storage devices or do I need to bite the bullet and buy a new PC? Thanks! View this thread
