Activation Key for migration to Parallels enviroment
by Guest Lucas Lundin- 0 replies
My Uncle and employer had purchased a copy of Windows 7 prior to my employment with another IT gent. They had installed it on a pc rig and the rig's mother board had fried on them. He's not the tech type and decided to toss the rig and go to an all mac business enviroment. He was in need of some windows applications and decided to go the way of Parallels but the CD key is no longer valid for obvious reasons. I guess I'm here on one knee to see what sort of mercy I can get kicked down to me. I was told the last rig didn't last a couple of weeks. I've been a Windows fan and loyal user since ever, and am just trying to set up a product the way we intended to use it when we …

Windows 7 Home Premium problem creating new user account
by Guest Chuck Mastrandrea- 0 replies
I am unable to create a new user account on my Windows 7 Home Premium computer. I have 3 accounts on it already, two are adminstrators, and just trying to add a fourth one (standard user). I go to User Accounts, click Create new account, give it a name, keep Standard user checked, and press Create Account. The account appears to get created and shows up on the User Accounts screen, though it shows that it is password protected already, even though I didn't have an opportunity to give it a password yet. I can manage that new user account and delete the password, and it then shows up on User Accounts as not having a password. When I try to log on as that user from the mai…

by Guest M. Alter- 0 replies

Hi everybody! I need some help connecting a windows mobile 6.x device to the internet via usb (Win7). FTP and HTTP works as desired but I am not able to do a timesync via UDP. The request always timed out. I've deactivated the Windows Firewall but no luck. When running my app in the emulator (or inserting a sim card configured for internet access) everything works well. Can somebody give me a hint to make UDP working when using a USB connection, please. Thanks in advance, M. Alter Continue reading...

Internet Explorer appears infected.
by Guest Pavlas- 0 replies

I opened a web link in IE9, Window 7, and when I tried to close it, the session kept re-opening. I had to use the task manager to close it down. Since then, my PC has been very sluggish. I think I have a virus or a worm but neither Norton nor the Microsoft Safety Scanner have found anything. My Internet Explorer.exe processes in the Windows Task Manager are using 40K memory which I read somewhere is too high and my iexplore.exe memory usage seems off the charts. What do I need to do to get my laptop's performance back? Continue reading...

Environment : Windows 7 64-bits I'm using MDT 2010 for the deployment of Windows 7 in my school. A software that we use require a dll. If I use the following command under a classic command prompt it doesn't work: regsvr32 msstdfmt.dll /s. Actually, I need to use a cmd as Administrator for this work. I created a new application in MDT to deploy a script that will copy the dll file in the local system then I try to run the command to register the dll but the registration doesn't work. How can I force the command to be run as Administrator? Or, is there any other solution? Thanks in advance for your help, Continue reading...

SP1 installs SharePoint & Office Upload Center???
by Guest KHHemmelman- 0 replies

We have created an "administrative" installation for Office 2010. We specifically did NOT install the Microsoft SharePoint Workspace. We do NOT want this item installed. After installing SP1, we are frustrated that the Microsoft SharePoint Workspace was installed without our knowledge, ignoring how we had Office 2010 installed via our custom administrative installation. (What was the point of making an administrative installation if the service pack ignores your choices?) I've seen other posts here on this, but I've not seen an acceptable answer about this. Why would SP1 upgrade something that did NOT previously exist and is there a way to tell SP1 to NOT install S…

Office 2010 SP1 installer bug
by Guest PowerGamer1- 0 replies
It seems Microsoft currently is not accepting Office bug reports at connect.microsoft.com website, so I am posting this bug report here (maybe someone can point me to a more appropriate place for that?). I have Office 2010 Pro Plus 64-bit installed. Microsoft SharePoint Workspace was NOT installed (only Excel, PowerPoint, Word and some features from "Office Shared Features" and "Office Tools" were installed). If I run Office setup from Control Panel->Programs and Features to reconfigure Office installation I can see that "Microsoft SharePoint Workspace" feature has a red cross, i.e. - not installed. But after applying Office 2010 SP1 (officesuite2010sp1-kb2460049-x64-…

My battery died yesterday in my pocket. I plugged it in when I got home and when I turned it on it wont get past the KIN boot animation with all of the pictures of people. I have tried several of the solutions suggested on many sites and none of them have worked. I don't have an upgrade and the phone is almost two years old so I don't have a warranty on it. So long way of saying I am phoneless until August when I a get an upgrade. Any assistance would be a great help as the losers at the verizon store couldn't help, but that is a rant for another day. Thanks Continue reading...

by Guest RJF5150- 0 replies

Microsoft Security Essentials detected trojan win 32/fakesysdef on our computer. It then asked if we wanted to delete it. Of course I answered yes and then it said it had to restart our computer which it did. When the computer started back up there is nothing left on our computer. No programs documents, icons etc. Why did this happen and how can we get all our information back. If we don't have any of our stuff we might as well have let the virus infect our computer.
