I used to live with my brother, just me and him. He was some computer analyst for a government operated company, and I was just a high school student. The day started off as any other. I ate my breakfast, wished my brother a good day, and left to school. When I got there, it was the usual bustle with my usual friends and him, Howard Saint. "Hey Howard," I greeted. "Dani, you know that's not very appropriate," he said with a smile. "I'm your teacher. You will refer to me as Mr. Saint." "Yes sir." He was my teacher, and I did have a crush on him but then a lot of girls did. He was young and handsome with his blue eyes and blond hair. He was a saint. I didn't mind class at all. I usually spent it daydreaming or staring out the window. However, the trouble wasn't school. It was what happened after. I usually walk home from school, but before I made it to the apartment; I saw a strange shadow following me. I thought it was nothing so I ignored it. My brother was usually home when I got there, so I called out to him. "Brother. Brother? Alex, I'm home." I walked over to his room and saw him on his computer. "Hey," I called out. He didn't respond. His eyes were glued to his screen, and he seemed to be sweating nervously. "What wrong?" I asked. He quickly turned to me with a flushed look on his face. "Dani! When did you get here?" "About a minute ago," I answered. I looked around his desk and saw a CD with strange encryptions on it. I couldn’t read it so I held it up, “What’s this?” “Nothing! It’s nothing,” answered Alex, almost shouting. Alex snatched the CD from my hands and laid down some money. “Why don’t you go to the movies? Dinner will be ready when you get back.” “Yeah, okay,” I really didn’t want to go, but I went anyway. Something was bothering Alex and he wasn’t going to tell me so I left. I don’t remember what movie I saw or what it was about. I just kept thinking about what had happened. The door was open when I got home. I looked around to see if anything had happened. “Alex? Alex, why was the door open?” I ran to his room after hearing several crashing sounds. What I saw truly terrified me. A man in a white suit and ski mask had grabbed my brother off the floor and proceeded to beat him. I wanted to do something, or even yell, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t move or breathe. My brother had managed to throw off his assailant after cutting his arm with a shard of glass. “Dani, get out of here,” he yelled. “Run! The assailant had struck Alex in the back of the head before he finished speaking. After my brother fell, he looked up to where I was and started toward me. After seeing him take that step, my mind finally commanded my body to move. I darted towards the door and ran out into the street. I could feel his presence following me. I managed to hide in a dark alleyway not too far from the apartment. I held my breath as I saw him run past my hiding place. My heart was pounding and my lungs were begging for air after hiding for what felt like forever. I left my hiding spot and ran towards the apartment to see if my brother was alright. When I made it to the apartment, I cried. I fell to the floor and started bawling. I shook; I quivered; I cried until my head began to hurt, and then some. The entire apartment was in total chaos. Everything was either broken or torn, and so was my brother. Time had past since that fateful night. There was no funeral. I was the only family my brother had. The police did nothing. They said that it might have just been a robbery gone wrong. However, the only thing missing from the apartment was that encrypted CD that was previously in my brother’s possession. That night had changed me. I stopped talking to my friends. I stopped going out. I always felt so weak and tired. I guess that’s because I wouldn’t eat much. I stayed at friend’s house. I just kept staring out the window. Class was already over and everyone had left, but I didn’t move. There was nothing to go home back to. “Dani, class is over.” I looked up to see Mr. Saint looking down at me. I didn’t respond. I had no reason to. “Look Dani, I know that this is a tough time on you, but I’m sure your brother wouldn’t want you living like this.” “Who cares? He’s dead.” “Please don’t be like that. I miss the old Dani. How about I walk you home? Would that be alright?” My heart skipped a beat when I saw his handsome face smiling at me. I couldn’t resist. “Uh, sure, that would be…nice.” I could feel my entire face turning red. It was quite nice outside. The leaves on all the trees were turning into bright and dull orange colors. The cool breeze chilled me to the point where I began to shiver. Mr. Saint had seen me shiver and began to take off his jacket. “Here,” he said. “You seem cold.” “Thanks,” I wrapped the large jacket around me before I saw something appalling. My brother had marked the assailant by cutting him on his right forearm. Mr. Saint had a scar on his right forearm and it wasn’t old. “Where did you get that scar?” “What, this? Oh, I uh…cut myself with-“ “-glass?” Saint stared at me and for once he became a tall brooding figure that had his murderous intent fixed upon me. “Dani,” he started. “Why don’t me and you go somewhere in private? Somewhere to…talk?” I started backwards and kept shaking my head, “No, no, no. Get away from me.” I spun around, throwing the jacket on the floor and ran as fast I could. I didn’t look back. It was already dark by the time I had stopped to catch my breath. I found myself at the old park where my brother used to take me to play when I was little. I walked over to the creaking swings and sat down. I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t believe it. The only person I adored has proven nothing to trust. My only family has vanished from this world. Never in my life have I felt so alone. Saint had killed my brother. The reason is still unknown to me. I decided to find out for myself. I went back to my old apartment which was now a crime scene. I headed over to my brother’s desk to find his old equipment still there. I grabbed his old computer and took it back to the room I was staying. It’s a surprise that it was still in working condition, but the real surprise was what I found in it. Looking through the recent files, I found one with the same encryptions as the CD. In it was the reason my brother was killed. The government was working on a new type of nerve gas, and apparently someone wanted to sell it on the black market. They must have sent Saint to retrieve this information, and kill whoever knew about it. But why did it have to be Alex? There is truth about this. Saint must be punished for his crime: the crime of leaving me all alone in this world; the crime of forsaking me and my peace of mind. I thought he was a saint, but it seems that anyone (and everyone) is capable of the greatest evils. Even me. However, there is a line I won’t cross to prevent myself to sinking to his level. But there is a boundary I will step into. But that was then. Now, I was at the darkest part of the city. The serene raindrops patted lightly against my raincoat. The entire area had a blue tint to it. I looked down at down at the man in front of me. He was a lot younger than I expected, perhaps only sixteen or seventeen. He was there, sitting in a large empty sewer pipe that may not have ever been used. He had his head bent down and his jet black hair in front of him. He had on a black tank top and red cargo pants, which was unusual to wear during rain. I saw two swords lying behind him, but there design was strange to me. “So you’re the guy? XeRo Yukishiro? I heard you’re good at what you do, and even better at keeping secrets. I need your help. My brother has been murdered. I know his killer. I need you to find him…and end him.” He slowly picked his head up, and through his hair, he stared at me with his black merciless eyes.

They don't have to be girl bands

Yeah...I tried that too. didn't go so well.

I've tried that. That's like a no-brainer but it doesn't match what I'm trying to do. It doesn't go with the character.

Okay guys heres the deal, as you may/not know I'm trying to write a story that includes characters based off rock music and some really good bands, but here's the thing there's one character that is way underdeveloped because I can't find a band to fit the role, so what I'm asking for are bands you would recommend for this character that i'm trying to do: the character is named Dani (for now) (it's a girl), she is the one who helps the main character Xero (I used Linkin Park to think of this guy) regain his humanity (soul, heart, feelings, whatever you wanna call it) despite his thirst for revenge. For those who watch/read Naruto, this girl is to Xero like Team 7 was to Sasuke, before Orochimaru messed up everything EDIT: If you haven't figured it out already, I use a band or specific sound to think of one character.

Okay kiddies let's discuss this one by one Wake- The song is instrumental but the meaning is in the title Given Up- There's no escape from this point in life, i need help but nobody cares. Ya' know what? F*** it, i give up; kill me. Leave Out All The Rest- When I die, don't hate me, just remember all the good memories and leave out all the other stuff. Update(s) Hey guys. for those of you that have actually been following my updates and stuff sorry I took so long. But now I have the final fifth character done, a major minor character and some background on the world of BST. Background on the world of BST There was once a great war, one so massive and catastrophic that every military structure in the world was destroyed in the fighting. Years past and the world sought out never to have another such war see the light of day. The world is now unified in a world government, with each country still independent in its own way. Only one country supplies the soldiers, fighters, and shinobi’s to the world. They are all trained in the Academy of Fighting Arts. After graduation, they are released to make their own way in life. Now many years have passed since then and the world still has it’s problems: the Nine Enemies of the World are still at large, several soldiers use their skills for their own personal gain, and one conglomerate threatens the unity of the world government. Yumi Witchwood based on goth stuff and stuff... Background: She was actually the only child to a very wealth couple. Her parents were assassinated by a rival of her father's and then had her fortune stolen. She had fallen from grace. She later became obsessed with darkness, sadness and tragedy i.e. she became emo. She then became the girlfriend of a leader of an emo group called “The Dead Zone.” One day she was sitting next to the fountain in the school courtyard. Her make-up got wet and she washed it all off. Kenji was walking by and when he saw her (without her make up) he actually went up to her and asked if she was, “the beautiful angel of darkness.” After she freaked out, they talked some more and she decided to go on a date with him to find out how he could be so happy and not emo. On said date Kenji showed Yumi the fun (think MTV’s Jackass) side of life, and for the first time in a very long time she smiled and laughed. However his way of life wasn’t for her and she had to leave. Later when she was going to cut herself (like emos do) she actually broke down and cried since her time with Kenji reminded her of her parents, and that all the dumb emo stuff she did (cutting herself, being all moody, etc.) was because she missed them. She ultimately decided to stop and become Kenji’s teammate to become closer to him. Skills: She wields a scythe and her special ability allows her to see in the dark. Personality: still working on it Major Minor Character(s) Gabriel (inspired by My Chemical Romance) – is Yumi’s ex-boyfriend. Gabriel was the leader of an emo gang called, “The Dead Zone.” After Yumi dumped him and left, the Dead Zone started to fall apart. Fearing the total loss of his gang, Gabriel left out to get Yumi back. Unfortunately Yumi joined Rika’s team and would not go back with Gabriel. Gabriel, confused and angry, tried to find out what changed Yumi. After a little digging, he found out it was Kenji who changed her. Gabriel now sets out to destroy Kenji, reclaim the Dead Zone, and get Yumi back (even if it means by force). Gabriel wields a long halberd tell me what you guys think, and i would really appreciate some plot ideas. come back later for an update on the Academy of Fighting Arts and how it works.

Extended XeRo bio XeRo Yukishiro (formerly Roe Seta) based on Linkin Park Background: When XeRo (named Roe) was a young child his mother left him saying she couldn't stand living with him (her husband) and it (Roe). His father blames him for this and would subject him to abuse and neglect. His life at school was no better. His peers would taunt him and his teachers would try to break him and mold him into what he "should be." At age ten, he ran away believing he had nothing to gain by staying there and to find the place where he belongs. Upon doing so Roe changed his name to something that reflects how others made him feel by adding an X to his old name: XeRo. After wandering for a while XeRo passed out from hunger and fatigue. He is taken in by Suki Yukishiro. Suki decided to adopt XeRo as her surrogate son, and the two became close. One day when Suki arrived home she was being harassed by a suitor (she was kind, beautiful and in her late 20s). She tried to get him to leave; this only enraged him and he used force. When XeRo saw this he immediately attacked the suitor. That's when XeRo decided that he would enroll in the Academy of Fighting Arts to become strong enough to protect Suki. In his first year at the academy he meets (i don't have a name for this guy yet so we'll just call him "Jude" pun on Judas) who is like XeRo. Over time the two become close friends. At the academy XeRo does poorly in the beginning but by the end of the year he is one of the strongest fighters in his class. One day, he returns home to find that Suki has been killed by Jude. XeRo confronts Jude. Jude explains that he is jealous (and afraid) of XeRo's growth and killed Suki to gain his own special ability. XeRo tries to fight him but is subdue by Jude's special ability: he is able to create clones of himself and his weapon out of light energy (light clones). XeRo swears revenge and will do anything, even corrupt his soul with darkness to find and kill his ex-best friend. Skills: He wields a tachi and uses it in a style similar to this. He has a special ability called "Break" in which his eyes become slitted (like a cat or a snake) and he enters a berserk state where he becomes extremely powerful for a short period of time. This is actually a defense mechanism created subconsciously after being surrounded by hate as a child. Personality: XeRo is cold and distant to others, speaking only when spoken to. Appearance: spiky black hair, fair skin, wears a dark purple t-shirt, dark blue pants and an open black trench coat. This is XeRo in the first story arc. After I hear Minutes to Midnight (i bought it yesterday) about fifty more times I'll do his second story arc self. Since I have most of the major protagonists done, I'll start on the major antagonists.

Well actually the idea has actually turned into two arcs. The first one is the one mentioned, after that the CEO conglomerate and the gang leader team up (well...kinda) and invade the academy which sparks and all out war between academy students and staff vs. conglomerate soldiers and gangsters Manga/anime has various ways of putting humor into...anything and I hope I know enough to do so. As for daily life: they may be fighters but they have lives too. Fight after fight after fight without anything else is a sure way to get a manga story rejected. but that's why in asking for ideas here while manga-kas (manga writers) have assistants who do things they sometimes can't do.

Story Idea(s): The story starts off in The Academy of Fighting Arts where "Grunge," Renji, and "Metal" <I still haven't thought of names and no one has given me anything) are attending their junior year. Their assigned apartment (dorm) has four rooms, but there's only three of them. Later they find out that XeRo is actually their new roommate. After introducing each other and getting to know one another (just a little bit) "Metal" rejects him right off the bat calling him "mallcore kid", "Grunge" doesn't care that much (being a nihilist and all), and Renji kinda whats to give him a chance. Later, they are all assigned Patrol (lookout/security/whatever) duty and are attacked by gangsters who want to steal an artifact sacred to the school (but nobody really knows what it does...really). They put up a fight but are overwhelmed by the numbers. Before the boss can make the final blow, XeRo shows up and takes down a wave of them. He gives the others some of his energy and they all defeat their adversaries, leaving only the boss. The boss puts up a tough fight even fighting all four of them. However XeRo enters his "Rage State" and finishes him off. XeRo later explains that he arrived late on purpose because the enemy usually lets his guard down when he thinks he has won. As the would-be thieves are being arrested the boss drops a crest with a strange emblem on it. XeRo says that it looks familiar but doesn't quite know where it's from. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In the beginning of the story XeRo is described as "a cynical being with no actual emotions whatsoever" but as the story continues he (slowly but surly) regains his humanity and suppresses his darkness. However enemies both new and familiar constantly push him over the edge. well that's what i got for story/plot so far i didn't know comments and suggestions were so much to ask for
