My truck stock head unit, and corners (for now) and a pair of Alpine type-r 2 ohm 12” DVC with a Alpine MRP amp. The wife’s Tahoe Infinity Kappa series components in the front, reference in the back, and a single Type R 12 4ohm DVC with an Alpine head, and 2 alpine amps.

The color of the springs really shouldn't mean anything in this case. Yours may be newer than his. My 07 has silver, and my wifes 05 has red. One thing to look at is the preload nuts yours may be backed all the way off. Like was said though if it works for you I would leave it.
