  1. I own a pair to wear in the garden. They're easy to clean off with the hose. I wouldn't wear them in public, though.
  2. He's not doing her any favors by not enforcing the rules. My FIL played that game with his youngest daughter for a few years.
  3. You'd see me running to the bank with that million dollar check in my hand!!
  4. Whatever your feeling about the current war we are fighting, the lives of men and women are at risk daily. Your disdain for this war does not change that fact. Having the power of a freedom means we have to take care of, and take responsibility for that freedom. Just because we have the freedom of speech does not mean that we can be careless with it. When it puts the lives of others in danger, we are being careless. There are OPSEC (operational security) rules in place to protect the lives of our soldiers and sailors. Taking away their "right" to blog is nothing more than protecting the lives of others.
  5. I read about this in the paper. Is the issue global warming, or the natural cycle of the earth? http://www.clearlight.com/~mhieb/WVFossils/ice_ages.html Approximately every 100,000 years Earth's climate warms up temporarily. These warm periods, called interglacial periods, appear to last approximately 15,000 to 20,000 years before regressing back to a cold ice age climate. At year 18,000 and counting our current interglacial vacation from the Ice Age is much nearer its end than its beginning.
  6. If I searched around, I'm sure I could find specific sites and info to back up my statements. What I am going on are the things I have seen posted in the military community. AD members telling their spouses specific information, and that information getting posted on a public board. Even emails that can be intercepted by anyone who knows how. A seemingly innocent statement of when a ship is pulling in, can fill in the last missing puzzle piece to someone. Personally, I'd rather have all members not post anything than have them put others at risk.
  7. There are some professional soldiers that have put other soldiers in jeopardy because of their blogs. Sometimes people don't think about what they post, or how it can affect others, and it ends up being dangerous. While I don't want to see all military blogs banned, I can't see how it would be possible to monitor all blogs for content.
  8. That, too. But somehow that's along the same lines, isn't it? No one should hit and not expect to be hit in return.
  9. I think many things are over-diagnosed these days. And instead of finding out the root causes of problems, the doctors give us a pill and send us on our merry way. Treating the symptom not the problem has become the norm. Very well said.
  10. No one should be hitting anyone, male or female. I was always taught that if you hit someone, you had better be prepared to be hit back. There is a huge double standard when it comes to a woman hitting a man. He is supposed to just walk away, or gently restrain her without doing any harm. Why? Why is he not allowed to defend himself? If someone hits me, I'll be hitting them back. Not trying to kill them, but definitely hitting back.
  11. I know, I'm such an ass! I had a giant brain fart and all my butt jokes went right down the shitter. I'll try to pull my head out of my butt and keep up next time!
  12. As long as he's not actually painting this way in front of his students, why does it matter? I'm guessing that his artwork is not hanging in the schools, so I'm not sure how the kids would be impacted.
  13. I doubt it was put with other luggage, but a baggage cart makes the most sense if the casket is switching flights. Why would they bring a hearse out on the tarmac to move the casket to another plane? It was accompanied by a soldier, and I don't think a full battalion was needed to transfer the casket to another plane. They didn't fire the casket on the ground, or treat it with any disrepsect. Some people just need something to bitch about so they can make a "stand" and feel they are "supporting the troops".
  14. So if there is "evidence" for both sides, but no proof for either, it's cowardly to not form an opinion? What about a non-theist? One who believes that the question of God's existence is meaningless? That the question has no relevance to their lives? Is that fence-sitting too?
  15. Regardless of how he treats her, she's still with him. Until she drops him, or vice versa, she's off limits.
