  1. "The best hope for humanity to survive beyond this century would be the evolution of some secular global civil society, but the chances for that are severely threatened by those two great pathologies of the human brain- nationalistic and religious fervour. It's amazing that despite all our progress ans sophistication, these primitive traits not only remain deeply embedded and seemingly incurable, but dominant."
  2. We can only know the universe's history back to the moment of the big bang. Beyond that is conjecture. Always will be.
  3. The idea of a supreme being is irrational fancy, created by a bunch of primitives to provide an explanation for a universe they couldn't comprehend.
  4. I wonder if einstein could have proved that there is no easter bunny?
  5. It was a rhetorical question. I just can't believe that consciousness can exist outside a living brain.
  6. There's no doubt that they existed, and that they buried their dead. Did they go to heaven?
  7. I think it's up to 70% now.............by the end of the year? 80? 90?
  8. The idea of a supreme being is irrarional fancy created by a bunch of primitives to provide an explanation for a universe they couldn't comprehend. It's the 21st century.............not the 1st!
  9. US FORCES MAY SOON BE ASKED TO LEAVE In an exclusive interview with The Australian, former US deputy secretary of state Richard Armitage has given a gloomy assessment of the situation. "The British used to make a big deal of walking around in their berets in the south," he said. "Now they won't even go to the latrines without their helmets. The south has got much rougher, it's mainly Shia on Shia violence." Mr Armitage said much of the violence came from differences over how the Islamic religion should be interpreted. And he said he believed the Iraqis would soon ask the US to leave their country.

  11. Well, we're getting stones and molotov cocktails at the moment in basra.
  12. You do realise that it was mainly saudis that were involved in sept11, not iraqis! Iraq had nothing to do with it.
  13. So you're saying we should leave the madness then. We are wasting our time, vast sums of money and lives for nothing.
