Mxs60, I hear what yer saying..but what I think you are missing is the fact that these were 18-19 yr old well-to-do college students....probably with very little street smarts, and if the dude had his 22 (which, BTW, did NOT look like a 22) in his other hand.. I can see where one would be hesitant to approach him to try and disarm him. These were kids, damnit..not adults. And even if they were adults, not too long ago, if you recall.. there was an assload of adults that didnt do anything to disarm a bunch of fucking towel heads with box cutters.

The only response I have to this, and the previous one stating that there are nuts all over the place is: Just from the many documentaries I've watched, and the interviews with the folks that saw the "ufo" (I'm not talking martians, and alien abductions, and shit) that these folks seem to be very intelliegent, and sane. Several were airline pilots. And, there was a very good documentary about a mass sighting over the skies of Illinois. Several policeman were witnesses. I, for one, will keep an open mind on this subject. It would be mighty arrogant of the human race, methinks, to assume that we could be the only planet in an undefined area (space) that could harbor intelligent life.

I look at this subject as a "law of averages" type thing. Face it, there are 1000's of "sightings" every year, all over the world, yes? Odds are, at least one of them has to be real.

Is pot a gateway drug...hmmm. Not in the sense that the smoke causes you to want a better high..but in the sense that if ya hang around enough pot smokers, one day, one of them is gonna ask you to try a line of blow, or crank, or whatever. And if you are one of those with an addictive personality, alot it times all it takes is trying something once. This works, I think when one is doing the same mondane task over and over. For me, it doesnt. I used to wake and bake daily, but when I was promoted to supervisor, it did not work for me, as I had many more tasks to complete, and folks to direct. There were several times I "got stoned and missed it" and in my line of work, not only could that cost the company 10's of 1000's of dollars but someone could also be seriously injured. Simply wasnt worth it, to me. So now, I do maybe 1 or 2 bong hits after work, and I'm good to go. Maybe its my location, but here in I-dee-ho we dont see alot of the columbian/mexican weed that was referred to in an earlier post. Most of the shit is hydroponically grown indoors, and is quality. I dont think the Cartels are getting too rich off of herb these days. With increased border security, and the size of the load that must be transported, I think the risk has outweighed the reward. The Cartels, I believe, have begun to focus more on crank, and heroin.
