Take away the unions and you open the door to a better government run education system. If I am ever to have children of my own, I will definitely send them to private school. If it breaks the bank, if I have to work three jobs, etc... I won't let a government official indoctrinate my kid to a world of servitude and mediocrity.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iqsxCWjCvI&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - Pres. Obama National Address to Students[/ame] Well .. he stuck to the script, and by last evening the people who had been in such a panic over the president's speech to the nation's school children were looking, shall we say, foolish. It was actually a very strong event for Obama. He got to deliver a good positive message to the nation's school children and, in the process, he got to embarrass his opponents. And he did deliver a strong message of personal responsibility, finishing school, getting an education, etc, because those are ideals that no one can take away from you. This is one of the few times I applaud President Obama for not pandering to his agenda and his consituency. One problem .. the teleprompter. Obama delivered the speech at some high school near Washington and, predictably, had to use teleprompter. This meant that he was either looking 45 degrees to the left or right, but never directly into the camera. Most of Obama's audience was out there on the other side of that TV camera, and that's where he should have been looking. Not once did he actually look the children in classrooms across America in the eye. Since we're talking Obama here, I just had to find a criticism. There are bigger fish in the frying pan: auto bailouts not going to be repaid, the grand stimulus bill's ineffectiveness, the government takeover of healthcare, the global warming bullsh!t, et. al. I can't hardly jump on board and criticize the president for delivering a positive message to government school children.

Not all women like to be subjected to the fancies of a fullgrown manchild who thinks juvenile antics, a la motorboat, is a means of exploring sexuality.

1. USC at Ohio State - I don't think it will be a runaway high scoring game against the #8 school in the country, either. I do believe Ohio State will find themselves hard pressed to move the ball against USC. I'm not a huge fan of either school, and I don't want to get into particulars, nevertheless it should be a fantastic game. 2. Notre Dame at Michigan - I hope Michigan creams the snot out of Notre Dame. 'Nuff said! 3. South Carolina at Georgia - This should be an interesting game to watch. South Carolina barely beat NC State and, of course, Georgia did not fare too well against Oklahoma State. I like Georgia over South Carolina because it'll be played at home, Cox should be healthy, and hopefully Sturdevant will be back on the field.

At the center of the health care debate this week will be something the media is allowing the looters to get away with calling the "public option." This "public option" is a government owned, government run and government controlled health insurance plan that is to compete with privately run health insurance companies. Since it is to be government owned, government run, staffed by government employees and controlled by politicians, why not call this the "government option?" The SOLE purpose of the government option is to run private health insurance companies out of business. The looters absolutely HATE the private insurance companies. They hate them because they're privately owned, they're privately controlled and they make money. Plus ... they discriminate. If you get sick and then get out there and try to buy insurance .. you can't. The statists know that these government-run insurance companies will run private insurance out of business. How could they not? How would you like to own a private business that has to compete with a government-run business that can operate forever at a loss? Just what chance of survival do you think you would have? Once the government option runs the private insurance companies out of business what will we have? Simple! The government option! That puts the government in charge ... and there's your single payer plan! Now you have the government - and that means marginally qualified and under-educated government hacks - making every single decision on who gets paid what for delivering any health care service.

My Dawgs were just piss-poor on Saturday. This was a different Oklahoma State defemse than we played two years ago.

Ohhh... no. What is the world coming to when we can't count on the crazed lunatics to make us fear the dark? The advent of the .50 caliber handgun?

I don't want harder facts from YOU, TJ! You nimrod! I want to know where you developed your thoughts and how you arrived at your assumption. You gave me nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing! I am reading the instructions to make Hamburger Helper and your telling me how much you like the taste. You fail. Epic fail! You won't direct me to anything other than your own opinion, because you fear... you FEAR to be refuted. Your opinions are not without merit, but I don't believe you. Enlighten me! You are not the authority here! Enlighten me! Jesus Christ, you are intolerably ignorant. So a magical being afloat in the stratosphere made existence in six days? Eve was born of Adam's rib? The Great Deluge covered the entire world? Come on, man. There are huge holes in Creationism, but you don't know that because you won't read a single article we've posted. Nor will you post anything an authority on the topic has to say to back up your claim.

What is the Democrat to Republican ratio?

"Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science." - Charles Darwin I don't expect you to understand that quote, I mean it is a Charles Darwin (who never refuted a Creator) original.

Exactly! TJ has not given an example, a link, an article, or something a bit more tangible to sway thought in his favor. That was the point, I was laboring to make TJ understand throughout this whole debacle. And he won't read the entire article, either, he'll debunk the headline with broad generalizations only believable to those who rally on the side of ignorance. TJ brings nothing to the table.

What? I saw this and nearly ripped my computer off my desk and through it in the dumpster. Alright there was a story, however, evidentally, a story about people who didn't have their sh!t together to prove 9/11 was an inside job. As I have heard of such theories, and I don't doubt the theorists who could be god-fearing christians or evolutionists, but their stories are debunked time and time again. Why would you post something like that? To get to me? You are a constant pain, TJ. You can not carry on an intelligent discussion without getting all bent out of shape over a few who might agree with your opposition. You are petty. You are pitiful. You are wretched. And I truly feel sorry for those who come in contact with you, personally, every single day of the week. I am sure that you have read my posts on patriotism, you have read my threads about the current administration's follies, because I have read your responses. And yet, your narrow little mind out of pride and wrath, posted such a remark to burn the smouldering coals of the memories of being under fire and watching as a friend was dragged away from his position in horror. You have evoked pure hate in my mind, again, with your callous and prideful boast. I will not forget how much you hate your own liberty, country, and freedom by accusing me of believing that 9/11 was an inside job. And when you reply, and I know you will because pride won't let you leave it alone, you will say "RO, I wasn't talking about you." with a half ass sh!t eating grin. My reply will be along the lines of, "Don't worry about how I feel, because I know in my mind that you meant what you said and have no intensions of seeing otherwise. Pride is an insufferable bitch to overcome. " PS: Eat sh!t and die.

Some businesses operate like the old theory of running government like a business. It can't be done, because businessmen (and women) don't run the government.

And not a single city leader will cut their own salary. Nor would I expect them to, but there has to come a point where our elected officials run out of programs to cut. And then, and only then, will we see the power shifted to people who really, really want to work for the people. Not an elitist statist enjoying the frills and kickbacks.

Ohh... yeah Mr. Kettle. You do realize you are posting in Ali's thread, the thread we are mucking up? Ali... Sorry for fukken up your thread.
-
Ohhhhh I see what you are talking about. (sarcasm) What part of evolution do you not understand? I grasp your idea very well: you think that suddenly homo sapien erectus appeared out of nowhere. If that were the case, then we would not exist as a species today. Yesteryear's simian forebears were ill equpped to feed the species today.

Out of respect to hugo and others who chose and/or have put you on IGNORE, I won't quote you at length. To those folk, I unreservedly apologize. On the plus side... I did get my post count up! Woo hoo! This thread has turned into accusations to the likes of the Salem Witch Trials... only not as entertaining, so I will EVOLVE a pair and walk away from it. TJ... I find your little world constraining and I will not be a part of a discussion of this magnitude with someone who can't offer a single bit of reference. I asked for you to provide something that will back up your claim, but you offered me examples as you see them. Of course, I am going to refute or sh!t all over them, because I don't believe you. At least, show me something or someone in the scientific community who agrees, comes close, is in the same ballpark, in the same timezone, on the same planet with you. Bottom line: I don't believe you and you haven't offered me anything to make a valiant effort to debate. So yeah... excelsior!

. What is it like in TJ's little world?

Right it... changes or mutations did not just happen, they evolved. Such as building a resistance to certain diseases, and maybe even the subsquent treatments, metabolisms adjusting as we travel and live in new places with new food sources... (Lactose... a cow's milk was meant for her calves, but we consume it all the time and in various products.), among other examples. Why do you put NEED in quotations? So one day a million years ago, a simian looking creature gave birth to homo sapien erectus? No. No. Through evolution, the gradual mutation of man's features, was enlarged breasts possible. If we evolved from ape, you can't assume that the direct child of our first ancestor looked like your baby. Maybe ten thousand years into the future, babies will be born with breasts and can self feed? Maybe? Again, NEED appears in quotations. Not sure why. Oh yeah... Neanderthal man stood around waiting for Cro Magnon man to come tell him he is obsolete.

Calvary, trascribed from Latin for Golgotha, was where Jesus hung from the Cross. I think you mean, CAVALRY. A rather dogmatic opinion of yourself, TJ. You are the son of God, too, you know? (sarcasm) There you go looking backwards again! I'm going to start calling you "Can't-get-right", because you seem to waiver an awful lot on whether you're this and that and whatever else. Or... maybe "Mad Hatter"? You seem to put on many hats.
