I've never had an issue with it but a buddy of mine did. He wedges in a dime to hold it in place and he hasn't had a problem since. Don't know what causes it.
I don't necessarily disagree with that stuff, but I don't think the state needs to be mandating these things. If you're dumb enough to not wear a helmet or a seatbelt or hang off the side then that's your problem. Let Darwin do his job!

Couple of questions if you don't mind. Do you stick with .040 on all your engines or does it vary by manufacturer/engine size? How much of an effect does this have on compression ratio, is the whole point of this to increase compression? What is the stock deck height set at?
I've used Fix-a-Flat in the past and it worked pretty well to stop air from leaking around the bead when sand got stuck in there. Heard pretty good things about Slime too.

Yeah, 86-88 (I think) Honda kept upping the power but then brought it down in 89 and it's never been back to that level. I didn't know the official specs but it sounds pretty crazy when you put it like that. I ride it every now and then just to remind me how scary it is then I put it away again for a while lol. The new 450s will almost keep up with it in a drag race. Almost.
Rockin the Phantom here! Makes things cheap when you only go through half a bag in a day lol. Used to play with a DM5 back when I was really into it, still have it, but I love the pump.

Way to go! I have a very similar build with the same bore, cam, compression, and carb but with mystery porting and an FCI intake. Mine only makes 50/35, goes to show how much of an effect different porting has.
