  1. Hopefully it's not a dog like the X you rode. If you're going to replace most of the parts with aftermarket I would have to agree with the cheaper model. Personally I usually just buy a mint used bike from the original owner bone stock for half price or less. Not like a warranty will serve me a purpose anyways. I wonder how much more the base model with steel frame weighs over the aluminum. My Kawi frame was pretty damn light
  2. Shut up Yankee! Haha. Oh I talked to Nick and he didn't realize he was on this site. He may get on now, otherwise he said give him a call!
  3. Wasn't sure where to put this thread, so here it is. Anybody in Florida on here, namely central Florida area?
  4. Just putting in my $.02. I always ran the Rotella T 15w-40 (white bottle) in my Honda and it did great. Every bike is different however, and I stopped using it in the Kawi. For some reason the Kawi was picky and would spew the 15w out of the crankcase breather. Not constantly, but enough that I switched to 5w (what it calls for). Never had that problem again. Short answer, YES you should be good! Just don't want people thinking it's the best thing to use for every bike...
  5. I would have to agree... I've owned the TRX450r, LTR450, KFX450 and now an Outlaw 450 MXR so I am very unbiased. I loved all the machines. They all had both pros and cons. None were close to perfect stock. Honestly the bike I modded the least was the LTR. I don't think any of the bikes are king of the hill. But every bike will probably tailor to a certain person better. This 'downgraded' YFZ was in Dirt Wheels not long ago. They stripped all the parts mentioned and it's still $7k I think. I liked the EFI on the Kawi for easy tuneability and the throttle response, but there are a lot of headaches like more electronics and sensors that some with it. I'm glad I have a carb again, tho it isn't as smooth as the EFI was. Sucks to hear about the performance of the YFZ450x...
  6. I think there is only the old or new style in Hotcams? I can't remember which is more aggressive and if both or only one requires upgraded valve springs. What else is done to the bike? Does is have a DRZe kit?
  7. Ass kicked is an understatement. I've been through some of those neighborhoods... No thanks!
  8. Oh you might be right. I had mine on the KFX, so that explains why I remember graphs... haha
  9. Ouch! Did you nail a rock or something? You picked up a 250F right? How you liking that? I want a 2 wheeler to rip around on too Thanks! I like the CST's a lot. I ride in soft/loamy terrain so they are great for traction in the loose stuff and still light @ 4ply. I went with 11" wide rears this time and notice a big difference over the 10" in traction. The MXR handles very well, so it works out great. If I were riding more hard packed, I would have went with the 10" again. I got them for $250 shipped for the set, so they're wallet-friendly. The tire shops have had problems seating the beads, not sure if it's the CST's or ATV tires in general, so I've had to seat three rear sets myself using a heavy duty ratchet strap. Works everytime.
  10. Garrett doesn't have any dyno graphs on the products? For some reason I thought he did. I can't speak actual numbers, but on the KFX it was a must and the quality is top notch. If you have the coin, it's the intake I'd go with.
  11. I like the Magura on my bike a lot. I wouldn't consider spending the coin before, but after having it now... It always smooth, doesn't give me arm pump nearly as bad in the tight stuff. Always seems to be spot on. Definitely worth the upgrade I think. I'm not sure how the slave cylinder would work on the Honda motor. I haven't looked into the aftermarket setups and how they work...
  12. Hey Zibilich! Ever get a tire groover? I swear I'm trying it this round with the CST's! haha.
  13. The KFX frame is very well built. It's not a material issue if any others are breaking. If Honda does it right, aluminum would be a good thing. I like EFI itself, the power delivery and throttle response. Also fine tuning is easier than swapping out a bunch of jets, but I'm NOT a fan of all the electronics that go with it. The thing I liked MOST about my Honda was it was so simple, easy to work on and reliable. More tech means more room for bugs. Now with the MXR, I'm starting to enjoy working on a bike again... IMO of course.
  14. I see two options here; 1) Buy her a quad of her own, and maybe she'll understand 2) Buy her a new car to save yourself future headaches. Me, personally? I did both, haha. Yes, she loves to ride and understands why my bike is so important. She never bitches, but that's probably because she can always join. The car thing, well, I was just sick of working on her POS.
