physician-assisted suicide vs Faith in Jesus
Richard Owl Mirror replied to Richard Owl Mirror's topic in Off Topic
Folks, maybe a better understanding of the Oregon physician-assisted suicide Law is in order so we might discuss this topic in a more clear manner? http://egov.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/pas/index.shtml Rules and Statutes http://egov.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/pas/faqs.shtml FAQs about Physician-Assisted Suicide In 1997, Oregon enacted the first and, so far, only physician-assisted suicide law in the United States. This law (known as the Death with Dignity Act) requires the Oregon Department of Human Services to collect and analyze data on who participates in the Act and to issue an annual report. These data are important to parties on both sides of the issue. Our position is a neutral one, and we offer no subjective opinions about these questions. -
MRIH, the same question could and should be asked of the Catholic / Christian churches. They too are in disarray, in-fighting among the various sects, using their vast resources to influence social changes, etc... rather than remaining focused upon their sole purpose which is Spiritual not Physical.

physician-assisted suicide vs Faith in Jesus

I quite agree ! It is quite a shame that the majority of American citizens sit on their hands and allow a minority take control of the Government. Although, I have a feeling the time is ripe for a turn-around. -

Well, I am recently divorced. This past May 25th to be exact on the final judgment but, it began well before then as all divorces do. It began a few weeks before Christmas when my wife casually walked past me and announced that she no longer wished to live with me and wanted a divorce. I guess I should give a bit of history, prior to this I have been permanently disabled for 10 years and unable to work. My condition continued getting worse rather than better and my wife stated that she saw no end in sight so she wanted out. Anyways, she left the house, leaving me alone throughout the holiday season without any family, my nerves and emotions were on the brink of collapse, I had just learned that my Dr. as well as my wife knew I had a heart condition for two years called a dilated aorta and neither felt the need to tell me this or treat me for this condition along with all my other symptoms. I had begun losing feeling in my arms and hands, which has finally been diagnosed as the central nerve core coming from my brain was being crushed by two vertebrae and almost severing completely the nerves to my arms and hands. I recently underwent a spinal fusion which seems to have had about a 50% reduction in symptoms to date. So, she left me sitting alone, afraid for my future, unsure what would happen to me, how I would take care of myself and as you might imagine, all this took a toll on my brain. She took everything including the house that I bought and then had the judge kick me out after 90 days so she could resume living in the house because she worked and paid the bills while I only receive $1,000 SS Disability. She also removed me from the medical insurance which meant I could no longer afford to take my meds. or see a Dr. Then I met my Lawyer I'm recovering physically, emotionally and due to my Lawyer, I will soon be recovering financially. My Lawyer was able to obtain 18 months of Alimony @ $1,100 a month plus half of her 401K. At least that will keep me in a double-wide cardboard box for awhile

Everything from who sleeps with whom, trading naked pictures of muslim women who the men have slept with and then use the pics taken with camera phones as proof they are sluts, to the mundane gossip.

I don't know if you ever visited Ummah.com/forum but, it is GOSSIP alley And AbuM leads the charge most of the time which is why I asked the question. When I bring these facts before him and the Ummah, I get permenantly BANNED.

I merely asked you in particular since you declare yourself to be a Muslim as well. I am not seeking for you to condemn a fellow muslim but, only wish to converse with you on the merits between this persons usage of the Quran in dismissing such things as public forums and free speech, while being an administrator over a public forum for Muslims. Please review the following from his personal website @ http://abumubarak.blogspot.com/

Today my nephew stopped by and while here he got online and went to a site looking for something. I had never been to this site so I saved the address and I thought it was so good, I would like to share it with my friends here on this board. http://detroit.craigslist.org/ It is a FREE Bulletin board allowing you to post things for sale or advertise your business, heck even if you are "looking for Love"... ;-) It is linked Worldwide so you select either the US city you are interested in or the country on the right, then the topics are all then LOCAL when you click on them. Give it a try, I think you might find it useful. http://detroit.craigslist.org/about/cities.html

Actually I know my Creator's will quite well. It is I whom you do not know, ...........yet. I would truly wish to introduce myself to you but, fear, hostility and hatred do not commingle with Peace, Love and Understanding, therefore one of us must have a change of heart before we would be able to meet at least half-way. Since "fear, hostility and hatred" tend to repel whereas "Peace, Love and Understanding" attract, I believe it is on your shoulders to change your heart. This much I do know, "fear, hostility and hatred" has no place in my Creator's Kingdom. Addendum: One of the most important aspects of the art of living well are our friendships with others. We, by building up these small units of human association, can help the world evolve a better social structure. It can also help us work towards the peace on this planet we all desire. Friendships have these benefits to our character development: 1. Mutual self-expression and self-understanding. 2. Union of souls -- the mobilization of wisdom. 3. The enthusiasm for living. 4. The enhanced defense against all evil.

I truly did not intend to be dismissive or call anyone out. When people talk about religion and religious ideals, a hardened heart often times leads toward animosity and bitterness. In this particular forum, and among the three posters here the three major religions are granted an acknowledged status of existence due to their influence and popularity around the planet. The main concept of all three sprang from the same well, and rely upon the same history up to certain segments of separation. They spring from the same legends, the very same soil, and for the most part the same people who populated a portion of this planet during one particular time of this worlds history. Sectarian hatred and violence has held it's grip on this planet for all of mankind's history. Is it not time to change course? I forget, what's that old saying about doing the same thing over and over, getting the same result yet, expecting a different result? Ah yes, insanity ! I would like to ask all my fellow posters to stop and reflect on the reason and purpose for which any Creator might have for creating Mankind. The answer to that question should be the unifying force that brings all religions together with a common purpose and cause. Let's talk of these things rather than bicker over unsubstantiated claims from dead men of past ages.

So you see MRIH, claiming that you align yourself with God's purpose while your conduct is 180 degrees opposite of HIS simply casts your tactics into the light for all to judge on their own merits.
