  1. I beleive you are right about the spark having to come from somewhere, and the "generator" is about where you mentioned I beleive, so we are probably talking about the same thing. My point is that they don't go bad on sportbikes all the time like you are trying to imply. About the signal generator, I'm not exactly sure but from looking at the schematic(I was looking at one when I gave those terms, so there a component called a signal generator on sportbikes), I'm guessing it has something to do with spark timing. I'm not questioning the quality of the type of bike you choose to ride. Especially with your personal ride being a BMW, I'm sure it's an awesome machine. I'm trying to prove your idea of generators in sportbikes going out all the time, wrong.
  2. I don't know the exact mechanics of how the the process works, but sportbikes(and most streetbikes for that matter) have the coils, a generator, an igniter and the signal generator. I'm sure it probably happens, but I've never heard of somebody having to replace either the generator or their signal generator on their bikes. I'm not bashing the mopar bikes, I think they're cool and they definately have their place. I'm just saying that Jap bikes are FAR from unreliabile...harley's on the other hand...well, they're not.
  3. Suzuki Katana, and the spark comes from the coils and the signal generator I beleive.

Ahh, yes. I almost forgot about that. They probably intended to, but in the end couldn't because of time restrictions or something. I've seen a lot of movies do that sort of thing.
  5. If you get an R6, watch out because I'll steal it when you're not lookin, like Adam's bike
  6. Of course it's to be expected with any bike. I've just heard a lot of guys on busas talking about having to change rear tires well before 1000 miles. I'd love ot have a TLR, I think the supports for the windsheild and that go over the handlebars make the cockpit look mean, lol
  7. I don't understand what you mean by that. I know what a magneto is on an airplane, but I've never heard of that part on my bike. I've also never heard of anybody I've ever known that rides a sportbike having to replace one. Sportbikes are suprisingly durable, and the engines can last pretty long if properly cared for. edit Just checked to make sure. Sportbikes do not have magnetos, so we wouldn't be on our seventh because we never had to worry about it in the first place
  8. I think Hayes is wrong and that he's just over-reacting because they finally hit on something that is close to him, instead of close to everybody else. I loved his voice talent on the show, but if he's going to be like that, then he can just go fuck himself. Every time I hear about Scientology, I honestly wonder if it's a joke. I cannot understand how grown men and women can be lured into something like that. I mean.....it's just retarded.
  9. Yeah man. We still need to set up that hog hunt that we were talking about. I'm not that good with a bow though, so I'd prefer a rifle. I do like bow hunting though as I think it takes a lot of skill.

I really liked the movie. I think it was fairly accurate from what I've heard. I was quite suprised at the lack of actual conflict, but it really didn't detract from the movie at all.
  11. I rented it a little while ago and thought it was interesting. I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I was going to. I did enjoy the character of the skinny dude with the long hair, his name escapes me at the moment but I am sure you know who I'm talking about. Spalding was also fairly funny at times. I like when he calls the woman a whore and then says "I calls em as I sees em" in his dream. Oddly enough, I liked the scene at the end of the movie where they are speeding towards the cop with Free Bird playing in the background the best. I might have to pick up the DVD to own someday, but I'm not in too big of a rush. I know you don't like me royal, so I hope I didn't taint your review Just playin with ya man.
  12. I heard a lot about that this morning, and it almost sounded as though we were going to get some of it here. I'm really glad we didn't. I feel bad for the people affected by it.
  13. I'd ride a TLR in a hearbeat, they're neat bikes. I doubt I'd be comfortable on one though. It kinda sucks being tall, the really fast bikes are made for little guys. A busa fits me pretty good, but that's a bit too much power, expensive, insurance is high and they go through tires and chains to fast. It's going to be a good long while before I step up to a different bike anyways, so I have plenty of time to think about it. For the time being, I love the Kat!
  14. He thinks he sprained it. It was the knee that's been giving him trouble anyways, so that didn't help.
