Seven people were killed and dozens were injured on Saturday when a freight train carrying highly flammable gas derailed and then exploded, devastating a village in northeastern Bulgaria. A blast ripped through the centre of the village of Hitrino, destroying a railway station, offices and dozens of houses and sending plumes of black smoke into the air, an AFP photographer saw.
