Guest MioMyo
Or Recalled, or that's Old News Now, or Haven't we been through all this before or any of the other many typical lies by bill & hitlery. Haven't we heard them ALL already before? An then hit has the audacity to claim Obama worked for the slum lord Rezko when the facts are he was nothing more than a junior attorney working in an office that was representing Rezko. What typical Clinton war room character assassination politics- do/say anything! OPPS- there goes that lie: http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/politics/blog/2008/01/photos_surfaces_of_hillary_cli.html CHARLESTON, S.C.--A photo has surfaced that shows Hillary and Bill Clinton posing with Chicago developer Tony Rezko, a Barack Obama contributor whom Hillary Clinton condemned as a "slum landlord" supporter of the Illinois senator earlier this week. Clinton was shown the photo during an interview on NBC's Today Show this morning but told host Matt Lauer she did not remember meeting Rezko. "No, I don't," Clinton told Lauer. "You know, I probably have taken hundreds of thousands of pictures." "I don't know the man. I wouldn't know him if he walked in the door. I don't have a 17-year relationship with him," Clinton added. During a presidential debate Monday evening, Clinton blasted Obama for his relationship with Rezko, telling Obama she had fought Republican policies as first lady during the 1990s while "you were practicing law and representing your contributor, Rezko, in his slum landlord business in inner-city Chicago." The photo is undated but Lauer said NBC News believes it was taken during Bill Clinton's presidency. According to a database of campaign contributions maintained by the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics, Rezko made a $15,000 contribution to the Democratic National Committee in March 2000, the last year of the Clinton presidency. Rezko also made a $1,250 contribution during the Clinton re-election campaign in 1996 to a Democratic party account that funded activities in Illinois to help win the election. As the leader of the party, President Clinton and the first lady were active fundraisers for the Democratic National Committee during his presidency. They frequently hosted events for signicant contributors and party fundraisers that often included a chance to be photographed with the first couple. At the time, "soft-money" contributions to the party were not limited in the same way that contributions are to federal political candidates. The Clintons, drew heavily on contributions to the party to support the Clinton re-election campaign and later the Al Gore presidential campaign, just as Republican presidential candidates did with contributions to the GOP. Lauer asked Clinton "if there's no such thing as ever being able to fully vet who you come in contact with, is it appropriate to make this kind of an attack on your opponent?" But Clinton responded by pointing to the extensive relationship Rezko forged with Obama. "There's a big difference between standing somewhere, taking a picture with someone you don't know and haven't seen since, and having a relationship that, you know, the newspapers in Chicago have been exploring," Clinton said Obama Communications Director Robert Gibbs said the photo of the Clintons and Rezko "reflects the fact that Mr. Rezko was clearly involved in a wide range of fund raising for both Democrats and Republicans." Clinton spokesman Phil Singer noted that Rezko had not made contributions to any of Hillary Clinton's campaigns nor did he donate to Bill Clinton's presidential campaign. "Tony Rezko has never contributed a dime to Hillary or Bill Clinton. They have no relationship with Tony Rezko," Singer said. For years after Rezko befriended Obama in the early 1990s, he helped bankroll the politician's campaigns. Then, after Obama's election to the U.S. Senate, Rezko engaged him in private financial deals to improve their adjoining South Side properties. Those arrangements became a source of lingering controversy after the Tribune first reported them in November 2006. Obama publicly apologized for his 2005 property deal with Rezko, calling it "boneheaded" because Rezko was widely reported to be under grand jury investigation at the time. Rezko has since been indicted on corruption charges unrelated to his relationship with Obama and is scheduled to go on trial on Feb. 25. Obama has given to charities $85,000 in Rezko-linked campaign contributions, including $40,035 last weekend following a published report suggesting that Rezko funneled a $10,000 donation to Obama through a business associate. Aides to Obama say the senator had no knowledge of any such scheme. Obama has been accused of no wrongdoing involving Rezko and has insisted that he never used his office to benefit Rezko. Thus far, there is little in the public record to suggest otherwise, and the few exceptions that have come to light appear minor. On Capitol Hill, Obama once gave a summer internship to the son of a Rezko business associate on Rezko's recommendation. Earlier, as a state senator, Obama was one of several South Side political and community leaders who wrote state and city officials urging approval of public funding for a senior housing project involving Rezko. But when Rezko pushed for passage in Springfield of a major gambling measure, Obama vocally opposed

Guest lo yeeOn
>Clinton was shown the photo during an interview on NBC's Today Show >this morning but told host Matt Lauer she did not remember meeting >Rezko. > >"No, I don't," Clinton told Lauer. "You know, I probably have taken >hundreds of thousands of pictures." > >"I don't know the man. I wouldn't know him if he walked in the >door. I don't have a 17-year relationship with him," Clinton added. Sleazy Hillary! If the Democrats want to elect a Bush torch-bearer and a Republican clone, Hillary is their choice. This is an excerpt of what Bill Clinton said lately as he was campaigning for Hillary (and himself): He went on to tout her work with Senate Republicans such as South Carolina's Lindsey Graham and Arizona's John McCain, who won this state's GOP primary. "She and John McCain are very close. They always laugh that if they wind up being the nominees of their parties, it would be the most civilized election in American history and probably put the voters to sleep," Bill Clinton said. Earlier Friday, Sen. Clinton said she must respond in kind to Obama's attacks even though she'd rather keep the campaign focused on their differences on public policy issues. "I try not to attack first, but I have to defend myself -- I do have to counterpunch," Clinton told NBC's "Today Show." "I took a lot of incoming fire for many, many months and I was happy to absorb it because obviously, you know, I felt that was part of my responsibility. But toward the end of a campaign you have to set the record straight," she said. Bill has again confirmed the notion that you might as well cast a vote for McCain or stay home, if you plan on voting for Hillary based on her electability: "She and John McCain are very close. They always laugh that if they wind up being the nominees of their parties, it would be the most civilized election in American history and probably put the voters to sleep," Bill Clinton said. Bill thinks that the two would have ``the most civilized election in American history''. Or is it just the Bill Clinton who would say anything when it suits him! And if you will remember Bill saying that if Hillary is elected, she will send him and the father of the current Bush around the world and have them say that ``America is back and open for business again'' (after our military has relentlessly pummeled and trampled them) and if you will remember the public approval George Bush has given Hillary as his worthy successor, it is becoming clear that there is a kind of genuine buddy-ism between the Clintons and the Republicans! There is a kind of spiritual kinship between the Clintons and the Republicans. And the Clinton power couple and the Bush oligarchy are just playing a game of musical chairs on the White House line of succession. The Clinton couple's philosophy seems to be that the Republicans and the Democrats are really buddies (despite their rhetorical sound bites to soothe their respective constituents frustrated with the status quo in Washington) who are at their best working together. Their common goals are to serve the insurance companies and for-profit health care industry while pretending to give America universal health care and to serve the interests of the neocon war lobby in conjunction with the rightwing powers_that_be of Israel in the name of protecting American security interests worldwide. And that's why Hillary voted to authorize Bush to go to war against Iraq. And that's why she had lengthy sessions with senior Pentagon officials assuring them that in a Hillary presidency, tens of thousands of American troops will remain in Iraq even as far in the future as 2016. And that's why she voted for the piece of legislature Joe Lieberman and Republican Kyl brought encouraging George Bush to start a war against Iran. And that's why she always goes from fortissimo to pianissimo subito when faced with questions on Iraq and American policy in the Middle East. Bill and Hillary have always treated the American people with contempt, believing that they don't need to understand the policymakers' thinking on matters of importance, such as war and peace. And Bill and Hillary always act sleazy when it comes to winning. Bill brought a Black clergy in at one of his campaign stops in S. Carolina and called on him to say that if Obama were nominated, he would lose because America is not ready for a black man. (Although no report has made the assertion that the Clinton campaign brought the guy in, it's not difficult to wonder how on earth would Clinton called on a guy he didn't know before in a crowd numbered over a hundred? And the fact that he was escorted by sucurity personnel out without giving reporters at the scene a chance to ask question adds to that suspicion.) Even as Bill pretends that he wasn't a racist or one playing the racist card, claiming that he would vote for Obama if nominated even though the latter had attacked him (as if Bill himself didn't start the smear campaign against Obama first), it was the most outrageous form of racism from a presidential campaign I have seen. Essentially, despite the verdict of Iowa and New Hampshire where over 90% of the people are white, Bill Clinton wants you to know that he believes that America is not ready for a black president, even though he said he would support him (like a dutiful democrat should). Again, of course, Bill Clinton would say anything to charm a bird or give himself enough room to claim that he wasn't playing the race card. But then Bill Clinton, while mysteriously appeals to a lot of black folks, has no credibility with me. The point is he is taking a hatchet to try to cut down a black man so he could be back and blather some more on world stage, as if the world hasn't heard enough from him. Toni Morrison ought to be sorry for peddling influence to fellow African Americans on behalf of Bill Clinton who no doubt had invited her to the White House for dinner some time ago. Yeah, I know . . . Toni Morrison won a Nobel for her literary contribution. But what did she do to help advance the course of humanity when she so blithely handed Bill a hatchet to cut down a brother when it matters most? Many Nobel laureates in literature have been forgotten while such a first-rate author as Marcel Proust, e.g., never won it. I don't pretend to know why some African Americans are so enthralled about the power couple. But I happen to think that the couple's mesmerizing power has more to do with it than reality has. And just ask Judge Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell, and Condoleezza Rice, they will swear to you that their Bush Masters are better. lo yeeOn ======== Excerpt: Both Clintons, campaigning separately, have wooed black and white supporters in South Carolina this week. An event Wednesday in Kingstree underscored the tension and suspicions animating the rivalry. After fielding questions from an audience of about 200, Bill Clinton called on a black man standing near the stage. The man said he was a pastor and told Clinton that "black America is voting for Obama because he's black." He said Democrats are in a dangerous position because if Obama wins the nomination, voters will elect a Republican in November. "They're not ready for a black president," he said. Several black audience members nodded and said, "That's right." "I have to tell you I hope you're not right," Clinton responded. He said that despite the "mean things" said about him "in the Obama camp this week," he would support the Illinois senator if he is nominated. But Obama was a junior attorney who was at best shuffling paper work for Rezko. Otherwise do show were he was named a principle or even listed as their attorney because you can't. On the other hand, the Clinton are quite the hypocrites as they got caught in this fiasco for accepting donation from him. That's much more a quid pro quo you moron!
