A little test...

I wanted to try an idea where I put my playlist on random and use the first line from each song that came on, when it came on in a story. I did 2 songs but got distracted heaps but I wanna know what you think:

“I’d like to thank you all for having me…” I said into the mic. It was followed by a few claps which seemed to be out of a lack of enthusiasm.

“In this village filled with tragedy…” I mumbled to myself hoping it wasn’t too loud so that they could hear it. I didn’t want to remind them of the tragedy in such a rude way. It was a completely horrible situation that they were in.

“I’m getting over it, pushing past all the bullshit and getting right to the root of what the problem really is!” A scientist beside me yelled enthusiastically.

“What’s the cause of the problem?” An old woman shouted, she sounded so stressed out. There was fear on her face which was creepy. Was she badly affected by all this tragedy? I had no idea, I didn’t even know why they asked me to come in and try to find a way to fix all this when I don’t even know what I’m supposed to be fixing.

It's a good idea in theory but doesn't translate well, it reads too choppy - without usual setting, scene, backdrop... yeah not bad but... has potential I suppose. Gonna try more with it?

maybe... i know it doesnt translate well, i only did it cause i got REALLY bored... but yeah, i might do more...

I probably will start a new story though, a proper one... at some point... I hope to actually make one I love so much I will want to make myself finish

*** tell me about it. I have like 5 stories in rotation and one I'm seriously working on and can't seem to get it to stick / not happy with. Which really sucks. It's not writer's block it's arguably worse. Write for days and at the end still look at it and go what the **** was that? Talk about a royal waste of time. It's very demoralising?

I feel for ya bro. Hang in there.

I think it can be a blessing as well as a curse... And coupled with my inability to finish anything I start... at least we have a creative outlet here I suppose (for want of a better word ) and peers to bounce ideas off so I guess it's better than it otherwise could be...

yeah, but I don't see it as a curse so much. I mean, I have fun writing and even when I do look back and think "what a waste of my time" I usually then think "oh well, I had fund which makes it not so much a waste of time..."

a weird way of looking at it yeah, but oh well.

Interesting idea. A disturbing amount of my stories are spawned from songs, so...mm, anyway... Yeah whatever this is, it looks cool.
