I have my old OEM crank im gonna send to Crankworks have the put a Carrillo rod on it. Think im gonna keep it a 471 it had plenty of power for a trail bike.

good choice! that crank will be bullet proof. but if i'm not miskaten to get a 471 stroker out of the stock crank you're gunna need a longer rod which requires a taller cylinder. correct?

You know bcd i didnt even think about it having to be a long rod stroker. If i am correct they make pistons for that combo. Im in no rush to get this done as i pick up my crfx tuesday so ill have something to ride. I have alot of research to do. And alot of ?s to ask.

Either call CP and see what they do with their cyl/pistons when they do a long rod or get all crankworks/cylinder works/hot rod stuff. I'd rather see you go with a carillo rod though.

If you're only after a 471, why not just pick up another +3 HR and have it balanced/trued/welded? It would be the cheapest route and sturdy enough for a lot. If you're going to re-rod it with a carillo, I would step up the stroke and run a stroker piston.

Had a HR in it and it was trued/balanced/welded. And I had my old oem sitting here. Figured i send that to them to save a few.

Yea bcd im pretty excited getting it street titled too. Now i need to drop 20 to ride it. Gotta get used to standing all the time again.
