Guest ak_wilderness
After months of waiting for someone else to have the same problem. I sat down the last couple days and figured out the solution, among reading everyone elses issues with win ce5 active sync compatibility with win 7 wmdc. The solution is somewhat easy, but must have patience. If you are like me and have plug and unplugged the usb you will need to while 9090g usb is plugged in, go to device manager and locate the mobile remote adapter under network adapters and uninstall it. Then locate your device if its there under portable devices and uninstall it. Unplug your usb for device. Personally I like to reboot at this point, however I just plugged the usb in and unit was detected. Drivers failed at that point, however, here was a key to my errors in the past. Check for windows updates, the first time I did this, it found this update Microsoft Corporation - Other hardware - Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter Installation date: 1/28/2012 9:50 PM Installation status: Successful Update type: Recommended Microsoft Corporation Other hardware software update released in May, 2007 More information: http://winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20060043 Help and Support: http://support.microsoft.com/select/?target=hub (9090G usb still plugged in) Then the driver failed again, I rebooted and replugged in the usb, the 9090g activesync indicated it was connected, now the wmdc showed an error with a red x, this is an improvement from not recognizing the unit at all. I then did another search for windows updates, while the usb was plugged in. Again it found another update Microsoft Corporation - Other hardware - Windows Mobile-based Device Installation date: 1/28/2012 10:17 PM Installation status: Successful Update type: Recommended Microsoft Corporation Other hardware software update released in May, 2007 More information: http://winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20060043 Help and Support: http://support.microsoft.com/select/?target=hub After allowing things to settle down, it sync'd. And the custom software in the 9090 is now functioning correctly also. I hope this saves someone time and energy Continue reading...
