Fox News Chief, Roger Ailes:

"We've become increasingly successful, and yet we've been increasingly
criticized," he said to the crowd about his company. "Sometimes for being
too pro-American. Sometimes we're too pro-Israel. Sometimes too
pro-democracy.

"I've been quoted as saying, 'This is a great country.' A lot of people are
trying to get in, nobody's trying to get out. The press is an essential
pillar of that democracy. The press didn't invent democracy. Democracy
invented freedom of the press. So we will investigate anything and find the
truth, and report it, but we do not get up every morning, assuming that our
country is guilty. We just happen to like democracy."

And he had some choice words for Democratic candidates who have decided not
to debate on Fox.

"The candidates that can't face Fox, can't face Al Qaeda," said Mr. Ailes.
"And that's what's coming."

Yeah like what Bush is doing is "facing Al Quaeda" Sitting in his cush chair
and signing bills for more funds to send soldiers into the meat grinder.

Takes a real tough guy.

LOL, described Faux as a "news" station. Good one....particularly

One has nothing to do with the other. Many of us, including myself don't
feel Fox is anything but the controlled media arm of the republican party,
and the most extreme wing. People like Orielly & Hannity are right wing
screamers. Orielly invented this "secular progressive" strawman he continues
to flog. Hannity choses insanity over intellect, and shouting over debate.
Then you have Gibson, Cavuto, Snow, Wallace, and the rest of the right wing
crowd that insists, like Roger Ailes himself that considers anyone to the
left of their extremities to already be Alquada, terrorists, or whatever
enemy they chose to brand a democart or liberal. I remember as many do when
Fox showed the REPUBLICAN PERVERT MARK FOLEY as a democrat on 2 different
occasions.

Given this, why would anyone want to go on a news show, that is that
inaccurate, that partisan, and that dishonest?

The democarts running for office know what a serious situation the
reopublican have put this counyty in, and Fox has been complicit in the
damage. One last thing this post you placed here by Roger Ailes, just
anothe inaccurate, patisan accsuation is the reason democrats will not give
his program the air of legitimacy he wants from them. This stunt by him,
like all things republican, is not going to help his party or his program,
but only again show the the right wing extreme and the measures they will go
to to smear and slander, rather than be "fair and balanced" like they
claim. And, that the TRUTH!

Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Worsens Terror Threat
By MARK MAZZETTI
WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 - A stark assessment of terrorism trends by American
intelligence agencies has found that the American invasion and occupation of
Iraq has helped spawn a new generation of Islamic radicalism and that the
overall terrorist threat has grown since the Sept. 11 attacks.

The classified National Intelligence Estimate attributes a more direct role
to the Iraq war in fueling radicalism than that presented either in recent
White House documents or in a report released Wednesday by the House
Intelligence Committee, according to several officials in Washington
involved in preparing the assessment or who have read the final document.

The intelligence estimate, completed in April, is the first formal appraisal
of global terrorism by United States intelligence agencies since the Iraq
war began, and represents a consensus view of the 16 disparate spy services
inside government. Titled "Trends in Global Terrorism: Implications for the
United States,'' it asserts that Islamic radicalism, rather than being in
retreat, has metastasized and spread across the globe.

An opening section of the report, "Indicators of the Spread of the Global
Jihadist Movement," cites the Iraq war as a reason for the diffusion of
jihad ideology.

The report "says that the Iraq war has made the overall terrorism problem
worse," said one American intelligence official.

More than a dozen United States government officials and outside experts
were interviewed for this article, and all spoke only on condition of
anonymity because they were discussing a classified intelligence document.
The officials included employees of several government agencies, and both
supporters and critics of the Bush administration. All of those interviewed
had either seen the final version of the document or participated in the
creation of earlier drafts. These officials discussed some of the document's
general conclusions but not details, which remain highly classified.

Officials with knowledge of the intelligence estimate said it avoided
specific judgments about the likelihood that terrorists would once again
strike on United States soil. The relationship between the Iraq war and
terrorism, and the question of whether the United States is safer, have been
subjects of persistent debate since the war began in 2003.

National Intelligence Estimates are the most authoritative documents that
the intelligence community produces on a specific national security issue,
and are approved by John D. Negroponte, director of national intelligence.
Their conclusions are based on analysis of raw intelligence collected by all
of the spy agencies.

Analysts began working on the estimate in 2004, but it was not finalized
until this year. Part of the reason was that some government officials were
unhappy with the structure and focus of earlier versions of the document,
according to officials involved in the discussion.

Previous drafts described actions by the United States government that were
determined to have stoked the jihad movement, like the indefinite detention
of prisoners at Guant

Fox is not a news network - it's the propaganda wing of the Republican
party.

Why do you hate America so much, traitor? Seriously.

I must be missing something here. I thought poster Bob had noted that
Fox's comment could be interpreted as Fox comparing themselves to Al

"The one with the most news viewers"???? Only right wing nut jobs, all
of them, watch Fox Noise. Nobody of any substance or education watches
Fox. Why waste your time. Of the 300 million citizens of the US, Fox
gets, what?, 2, 2 and half million, tops. More people listen to NPR on
the radio, or watch the nightly news on PBS, or the regular broadcast
channels than watch Fox. The one with the most new viewers!!! Don't make
me laugh.

I don't believe anyone has criticized Fox for being "too pro-American" or
"too pro-democracy". Ailes is trying to equate pro Bush and pro GOP with
pro-American and pro-democracy. I can't imagine any sane person falling
for that. As for being way, way too zionist, Ailes must find that shoe a
perfect fit.

Increasingly successful? He hasn't looked at his own network's ratings
lately, has he? Unless, of course, dropping ratings is a sign of "success".

Actually, for being too pro-fascism.

Then Fox should dissolve itself, and quit trying to elbow the legitimate
press out of the picture.

Uh, no. If Fox ever DOES actually find some truth, they bury it behind
round-the-clock coverage of a blond teenager being missing in Aruba or of a
blond bimbo dying of an overdose.

> but we do not get up every morning, assuming that our
> country is guilty. We just happen to like democracy."

Then why wasn't Fox in the forefront of investigative reporting of election
fraud and vote suppression by the GOP in the last several elections.
Perhaps they should just admit that they adore Republicanism and despise
democracy.

Why should they have to face TWO evil organizations that are hell-bent on
the destruction of America, albeit using two different methods?

However, I must applaud Mr. Ailes for finally admitting that Fox and al
Qaeda are moral equivalents.

BWAHAHAHAHA

Ailes started an ENTERTAINMENT channel with a "news
format" to pander to a SMALL segment of the rightwing
electorate

Yes, he "first" in biased news ENTERTAINMENT

But Faux is NOT a credible news outlet

They won court cases by a defense that they are
"entertainment", not necessarily purveyers of truth.
