Al Gore: the anti-Bush

By Jonathan Chait

No wonder conservatives are apoplectic - Gore's fortunes rise as the

president's plummets.

When Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, conservatives

reacted with apoplexy.

Talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh, conservative bloggers and other

Republican faithful denounced the prize as a fraud.

You might wonder why they care so much -- Gore, after all, is

obviously not going to run for president, and even some conservatives

now concede that global warming is real.

The answer is that Gore's triumph is a measure of George W. Bush's

disrepute.

Sore loosers, sore loosers, will you never learn. Al Gore took his

presidential defeat with grace, unlike Oldbush who left Clinton a war and

unbelievable deficits and allowed his henchmen to incessantly attack

Clinton.

Who would have thought that US elections could be so rigged against Gore?

Only the riggers, Rethugs and their appointed henchmen the rightard

Supremes.

Only thing this shows is who has the character to fight back in ways no one

even dreamed of without a body count. Al Gore put the issue Global Warming

right back in the spotlight where the whole world could see. Big oil got the

White House, temprarily, but Al Gore got the Nobel Peace Prize, forever.

Yes, maybe Al Gore planned it this way. George got his endless war and

trailer park votes and alegacy that'll hound the Bush family for hundreds of

years and Al Gore got the world together again. Whose actions will impact

the world the longest. I want this man Gore for president, A true and smart

Man with Character.

FUCK LIMBAUGH. HE'S A CRIMINAL AND A TRAITOR!

The freepers are going INSANE (well, since all of them are 9/10s batshit

already it's not a great stretch) foaming at the mouth, not surprising

since it hasn't been a good week in the asylum, they started off trying

to keep up with Fatso's many and ever changing "clarifications" of his

slur on the troops without any sucess... then they got all excited when

they were able to smear a disabled 12 year old, THAT was something they

could really get into, only to have that come back and bite them on the

ass, then there was Coultard's racist remarks, then O'liely got whacked

for his sliming that 15 year-old that got kidnapped, General Sanchez

pissed all over little georgie and then, to round off the week, Al won

the Nobel..

No , NOT a good week in the freeper asylum... but really fucking funny..

It's great entertainment, much better than tv...

GODDAM AMANDA I LOVE YOUR STYLE. Thanks for that summary of the past week.

It must really suck to be a rightwinger -- of course, they are too fucking

dumb to understand what's hitting them.

Peace and conservatism don't mix. That's why the Peace Prize pisses them

off so much.

I'm impressed. I just wrote an essay that covered identical ground,

but Amanda managed in three paragraphs what I needed three pages to

do.

All you needed to do was spend a few minutes, to find out who the previous

winners of the Nobel Prize were to have the answer to that question.

I did.

Again, who's he talking about? Kissinger?

If you're talking about Arafat

1) He didn't "win a Nobel Prize", he earned it jointly with two Israeli

leaders

2) He and the Israelis earned it because of the work on the Oslo Accords, a

failed attempt to bring peace to Palestine/Israel

3) Arafat killed thousands of Jews? That certainly seems doubtful.

Better luck next time - maybe you ought to check your facts before you make

a public fool of yourself!!

LOL
