MESA, Ariz. -- The body of a man in his 30's with an apparent gunshot wound

was found in a dumpster in an alleyway, Mesa police say.

Witnesses in the area told officers they saw a small dark-colored vehicle at

the same time the man was located Friday afternoon near University Drive and

Alma School Road.

Police said they are trying to identify the body.

"I heard the sirens," said Randi Mangino, a neighbor.

"People were saying some guy had gotten shot in the head," she said.

Officers said they were also working to uncover a motive for the slaying.
