TINLEY PARK, Ill. -- A manhunt was under way Saturday after police say
"multiple victims" of a fatal shooting were found inside a Lane Bryant store
in a suburban Chicago strip mall.
Police are confirming five women are dead in the shooting, according to
WMAQ-TV in Chicago.
Tinley Park police Sgt. T.J. Grady said officers who responded to a 911 call
found the victims in the back of a Lane Bryant store. By then, the shooter
apparently had left the cluster of stores off Interstate 80 in the suburbs
southwest of downtown Chicago.
Grady said the store was open at the time of the shootings. But he declined
to say whether the victims were customers or employees. ' Grady said robbery
is believed to be the motive.
Grady said police are looking for a black man about 5 feet 9 inches tall and
weighing 230 to 260 pounds. They say the man was wearing a black
waist-length winter coat, a black cap and black jeans.
