What happened to the Edit button?

edit: never mind like i went to several threads tan the edit button wasnt showing up anywhere so i posted this and the minute i did it showed up

You can still edit posts for up to 24 hours after the original post was made. After that, you can't edit it anymore.

Probably because if the reasoning that, if you haven't fixed it within twenty-four hours, there is a good chance it wasn't important.

Well, the purpose of the "edit" feature on the forums is first of all to avoid double-posting If one really want to edit/delete what he/she have said 1 month ago he/she can contact one of the mods/admins.

It makes sense. I only ever edit my posts if I make a really clear mistake, and that's usually straight away. Hope that cleared it up.

can we please get rid of the 24 hour thing, its a pain, for example, In the thread I created about Mikes Birthday, I linked an image, and it shows on my account, but on others, it doesnt, because LPTimes doesnt allow Hotlinking (sorry guys). I only just discovered this error today, because I was able to see it fine, it was only when a friend emailed me a screenshot, I realised. So i went to edit it, and of course, I cant. Sure, people dont normally need to change stuff after 24 hours, but then stuff like this happens, and I dont want to waste my time PM'ing mods, waiting for a response or some form of action etc etc, when I can just click a button and do it myself.

Also, there is no option to delete a thread in The Dark Room section. I made a thread in there, and the poll didnt show up, so I went to delete the thread to redo it and see if the poll showed up, and I went to delete it, and the option wasnt there, any reason why?

If you have a problem with a thread or post after 24 hours, then,

One: It must not have been that important to begin with.

Two: PM a mod about it, that's why we're here.
