An update has messed up my computer OS XP media centre edition.

I had to fomat the hard drive the other day and now after hours of updates the screen resolution has been started in default VGA . System restore does not fix the poblem. Two messags come up showing problems with flashplayer and DivXsm.exe. Anyone know
how to fix this before i reformat the Hard drive again.
