Guest Acorp
As stated in the subject, I get an "Error Code 0x800700D - the data is invalid" when I try to activate Windows 7. I have read all of the previous Windows 7 Activation error threads, and don't find anything I haven't tried. I have returned to Microsoft and obtained a new key, and used it for the "Change Product Key," with the same result. I copy/pasted the key directly from the MS website, so I know there was no confusion or mistyping of similar characters/numbers. I can't recall 100%, but am pretty sure I entered the original key given to me by MS on the download page upon install. My clock is set correctly and reporting correctly: July 30, 2009 Windows is not shutting down or otherwise locking me out, but it does report that I only have 14 days (and counting down) to activate. If memory serves, I was first notified on Day 24 that I needed to activate Windows. Installed version of Windows says, in the bottom right hand corner: Windows 7 Evaluation copy. Build 7100 My ISO was downloaded directly from MS. I don't have Alcohol 120 or whatever it was or any of the other programs mentioned that conflict with the activation. Installed non-Microsoft programs are: Adobe Flash Player Adobe Reader Avira AntiVir Dell Touchpad Filezilla Java 6 Update 14 LastPass Mozilla Thunderbird In another thread, someone talked about disabling GPO security and telephoning in directly in to MS - I didn't understand what they were talking about, so I have not attempted/performed that suggestion. Any thoughts on what I can do to activate Windows 7? Thanks! Continue reading...
