Appeals court keeps players' suit against league alive

A players' union lawsuit against the NFL claiming the league set a secret salary cap for the 2010 season can go ahead, a federal appeals court ruled on Friday. The appeals court reversed a decision by a district court that had denied the union's claims. "We are pleased that the Eighth Circuit ruled that players have the opportunity to proceed with their claims," the National Football League Players Association said in a statement. We have notified the NFL of its obligations to preserve all relevant documents and communications."
