Hmm, didn't think it would be as constricting as this. I thought it was just gunna be like all 4 of our own choice on topic.

But I guess this is more challenging like this.

Anyway this looks fun. Hopefully there are heaps of entrants. Is there going to be a list of everyone that's entering?

Despite being challenging, I reckon its a tad BS. I mean for the first three entries all we are doing is promoting the LPF website and not using our art skills to create something out of our own design, imagination, and inspiration. I mean sure the winner will get their art all over the website, and LPF sessions, but meh, I duno its kind of just an easy way of self promotion for the site.

I agree. I think this is more about promoting LPF, than actually being able toshow off our graphic talents. It is severly limiting with this, and all the ideas that I had going into this, are now basically useless because they wouldn't be effective when used as promotional items.

Personally I think this should have been a seperate thing from artist of the year, or something held after, with the winner being in charge of handling these things.

Exactly my thoughts friend. :thumbsup:Also the submission date is a tad too soon. Maybe early Jan? I duno it gets hectic around xmas time.

True. I didn't even look at that before. We have basically 3 weeks to create 4 of our best pieces or graphics, with xmas and such in between? ****.

Despite saying these things, I do think what Azem is doing, as he is trying to create these awards, is great. Dont get me wrong im not dissing him or the staff in anyway, its just I feel that its all way to constricting, and not thought through.

its basically 3 of the same works in different shapes.

I honestly can't say anything bout the dead line etc bc I just don't work as much on a art piece of mine as you guys but thats just me :confused:

It just started and you guys already criticize it.

It doesn't say that it all has to look the same....just use the same kinda inspiration or theme.

IMO there's still enough of room to be creative.

And also you gotta give some props to Azem for putting all the work in it.

So why not try it first before you put it down like that?

I am not changing the topics. Why? Simple. If I asked anyone of you guys to make a wallpaper that would be almost to easy. Any noob could do it. That is not testing your skill. Whats testing your skill is throwing thinks like the LPF requirement at you. Granted keeping them related is probably to restricting, and I could ease up on that. But the LPF requirement will remain. The way it crushed some of your ideas is great, because I want people to draw up unique ideas. That's what being called the best Artist is all about. I could care less about the promotional quality of it. And just because it has to be for LPF or the Sessions doesn't mean you have to slam a face of Chester and Mike on it. Do something new. That's the challenge. If it is truelly that difficult for you to come up with something than I'm sorry but I'm sticking to the requirements.

Amen...sorry lol, I am not even trying but, yeah, even if it is promotion, don't we need it a bit? The promotion would probably help get more contestants and everything!

im not criticizing it and im all for a bit of promotion, its just that we as artists want to explore new fields and use our imagination, limiting that makes it a little meh...

but im all for it, ive already started and if this is the way its gonne be, bring it on!

I have to agree with Azem, and not because he is a mod and I am a mod, or anything like that.. It is because I am an artist in this type of field, and I think it would be much easier and less challenging for us to say.. Ok, make us any three pieces you want, I don't care, where is the challenge?.. But for there to be rules and restrictions to follow, now that makes it fun, and a challenge.. and its as simple as this.. If you don't like the restrictions, just don't enter. No one is making you. and if you are ready for a challenge, and if you are ready for the prize that we are going to award you, then you must step up, and be creative, when there are some restrictions..I think the restrictions open a door for a whole new step of creativity.. and I can't wait to see what some of you guys come up with..
