Asking for help for the first time, please........

ok, guys, i wanna join this band, I mean its like I really really wanna join it and the thing is my parents are so not gonna allow me to join it, and its even harder to convince them since i'm an indian.

 

So if you guys can come up with some masterminded ideas to convince them to let me join, id be highly obliged to yas.

People please help, i reaallly wanna be a part of that band.

Why don't your parents want you to join?

Would it be possible to keep the fact that its a "band" hidden from your parents and just say you're going to hang out with some friends and listen to music.

I agree. Just say Im going to chill with "Joe and Marie" so I'll be back. ANd They wont know you are in the band.

most indian people are majorly old school....i mean really old school its really important to be socially acceptable..its also important to be a boy being in a band isnt socially acceptable.

even im an indian. almost facing the same problem as u exept the thing is first i am a girl secondly my problem is with going out with my frnds. they think i cant take care of myself. how much ever i tell them i am mature enough they wont listen

 

but anyway dont worry . they will understand . i no how orthodox indians can be as i am one. just keep telling them

 

after a year or so they might listen .

hmm, prove to them that you can be trusted. prove to them that you have accomplished your goals and this is just some R&R. otherwise, you should not want to join a band. studies first. (am i sounding like your parents? cuz this is how mine sound)

Lucky you. My parents are liberal, except when it comes to studies and certain things like earings and tattoos. It drives me insane. They are only like that with me though. My bro gets whatever he wants.

That's not fair that your parents won't let you be in a band just because you're Indian!! Do you mean like Indian from India or like American Indian? Even so, just prove to them that you can do it and try to see why they have a problem with it and convince them that it doesn't matter or somethin.

Suck up to your parents and do everything they tell you to do, plus more lol. Usually works for me! Or go for the guilt trip "Mum! I've done all of my homework, I get good grades, I did my chores, I help around the house, I help you, I'm not a bad person doing drugs or smoking. Whyyy can't I be in this band?!?!?! hey guys, thanks for posting and all but i failed, guess thats life and for some of the questions asked before: My paretns are like true indians: always telling me not to forget my heritage, i'm form northern india andum............yea my sis gets watever she wants too, no expectiations from her but my burden is loaded with pressure.

Wow, I've never met an Indian here (in US) that was all rock and wanted to be in a band. That's awesome. You can still go for your dream, keep practicing and when you're out of their house, you can do whatever you want.
