Being "Cool".

Ok heres the deal, Im not sure how to word this. I have been doing Correspondence School since '98 and now this is my last year of school until I go onto higher education. And it seems some of my firends cant understand why I dont go get pissed (drunk), or toke up on some hash or something. I think, because of this, people may under estimate me. Am I just a bore, because I just like making music and art, and only go out with friends 3-4 times a month (which is not counted by seeing them at work 2days a week)? So do you guys reckon its good to just fit in or strive and want to be different and to be god in life? Some of my friends also make fun me when I study tons, as well as working really hard at my job, should I slow down, or are they the ones who should start to care about their lives?

Love who you are. Your life style/personality is sixty time more beneficial and healthier to you than how they live. Once you get into a higher education, studying will become even more of a priority. Those ones partying or fooling around now wouldn't be able to adapt to it. If you like the way you live, it's completely fine, and since it is totally beneficial to your cause, I think you should stay that way. Others shouldn't have the power to choose what dominates your life. And i think you are much smarter than they are for choosing to live this way.

Do what u think is right to do, u will never fill satisfied otherwise.

I conformed to get "cooler",and it worked out for me...but I sometimes wish I could go back to doing wahtever I wanted too without worring about how other people would react

I guess Id sooner be doing things worth while, like getting an education, and making music etc..which is far more of a benifit that getting stoned =D

Being cool, is just if you are yourself, and people love you for being you, that's cool, there is no technical definition of cool in my mind, it's all in one persons mind and set.

god no!!! dont strive to be a god, *winces* i was popular once and believe me they put you up there just to let it backfire and pull you back down!! its awful!

doing drugs isnt cool at all! trust me, you'll be the 'cool' one in twenty years when they're ll having liver cancer and your perfectly healthy!

anyways, doing art and music is pretty funkadory in its self!

I tried to change for other people when I was younger but in the end they didn't like me as how I really am... that's why I stoped that and if someone doesn't like me the way I am he/she should leave me alone...

if they can't respect you for what you are, they aren't really much of good friends, are they...

Within the people at my school, i'm kind of in the middle in the popularity sorta thing. I'm as cool as a nerd can get aparently. I don't like it one bit. I get treated like dirt by the "cool" people, then the nerds are basicly scared of me because i'm cooler then them. Or, that was until i chose to be a nerd over a cool kid. Best decision of my life. I get teased 100% more but i get through my day 150% easier.

I suggest do whatever you want to do, fuck everyone else. They give you crap, block them out and go do your own thing. Thats what i do and what i have done.

When you get teased for studying heaps, you should just laugh at them and say "well i'm more likely to pass these tests then you are, so in the end, i win!"

The definition of "being cool" is really subjective so it's always pretty inappropriate to talk about coolness...

However...like everyone else said...be yourself...don't listen to others...don't let them change you...and if you manage to do it...than you're a cool person in my book...

Yeah, don't worry about it dude. For example:

Me and my friends all drink occassionally and get drunk at parties, apart from one. He doesn't do it and never touches alchohol, but we still accept him, he's one of our best mates and we arn't gonna judge him just because he doesn't do what we do.

I'd come home a friend would be waiting in my room o.O

I go out to my aunts and a friend is their, everywhere I went their was always someone.

So just stay away form bein "Cool" you should just keep it up at your job.

I lost my job for being caught 3 times in a row smoking weed at the back of the store -.-;

I went back a few motnhs later and got the day off for being half cut at work...

and it was all cause of firends. not rly blaming them though cause It was up to me to do so.
