slip_knot
I accidentally clicked the wrong button, and now, I'm being pestered to death. If you get "Winfixer 2006 Alert" poping up, be careful. It goes on to scan your pc for all the worms and stuff, then tells you how much you need their programme to clear up the mess your pc is. You can't get rid of the fucking thing. It can't be clicked away, nor can it be minimised. The only options are 1/scan now 2/register and fix now 3/remind me later Bill forgot to add: 4/ fuck off for all time If you click outside their window, ie, in the bigger window, it won't be overlaid. it remains there non-the-less. I even restarted my pc, but it bounces right back up again, be careful out there in cyberville They won't get my $29.99, those fuckers. Lethalfind
A Microsoft antispyware scan will eradicate this program, it probably has already implanted in your registry. I have had this thing get into my system before as well and its a pisser. Even if you locate the program and delete it, its already in your registry and will re-install itself when you restart your computer. Of course it doesn't appear in the normal place that you use to remove programs. Quote I am a pathetic piece of shit leeching single mom.

builder
Do the old ALT/CTRL/Delete trick, and switch it off in the running list. Or go Start/Run and type msconfig, and uncheck the box that starts the fucker when you reboot. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.

I ended up with this program in my computer and it is probably already in the registry so deleting the program will not work because once you turn your computer off and on again, the program will re-install. Gallytuck
Whenever I've had shit like that happen I'd just run a whole slew of various system scans. More times than not it'd take care of it. But in a couple of cases I had to Google for a specific remedy available for free on the net.
snafu
Get spybot from download.com. It will get rid of it. And It's not Bill Gates. It's another third party shit head that uses spyware to get you to buy spyware remover tools. Even if you chose to scan now it would just show you the spyware on your system(that they put on) and tell you you have to buy their product to get rid of it. Spybot is free and is a very good spyware remover. Fuck them other assholes. Dont' give them a dime. WinPatrol is another good program. After you use Spybot to get rid of it you can keep any more of this shit from getting on you cp. WinpPatrol alerts you anytime any program tries to install its' self on you cp. It also has the functions like msconfig. And a cookie cruncher. It stops the cookies you don't want from installing on your cp. If you know which files are the ones you want to shut off, just uncheck them, tell msconfig not to show up and reboot. It will be gone. slip_knot
I ran a search, then highlighted, then hit the delete button. It still keeps popping up every time I boot the pc up, and every 10 minutes. I'll work my way through all the advice you've all given. Thanks all.

tizz
I clicked one by mistake once, while trying to X it out. Since then I always close those fracking pop ups from right clicking the link in the tool bar. Then i run a scan to make sure the fucker is GONE!!!!!!!! I HATE pop ups and often end up with several pop up blockers so i can cover all of them. snafu
I don't go into my registry and delete shit because of the posible problems it could cause if I delete something wrong. I use a program designed to take care of this issue instead. msconfig is an editor that you just select which ones you want to turn off. You don't actually go into your registry and delete anything. Yes you should never go into your registry unless you know what your doing. In this instance I would use Spybot to get rid of it completly. Hamza123
1. I had the same thing, and my web browser was also hijacked. 2. This is spyware, but it's a form of Malware also. Hard to get rid-of unless you have the right tools. 3. Microsoft Anti-Spyware doesn't eliminate Malware. Microsoft's definition's of Spyware are still young and they're Spy-Net networks aren't really updated. I would only recommend it to people who only use Microsoft software. Same with Spybot: Search and Destroy. You need an Anti-Malware Program that searhces for registry errors. Spyware only fucks with your computer on an Internet basis. Malware does it through everything. Right now, the best version of Anti-Malware out is Ad-Aware SE Professional, which costs money, however I cracked it illegaly since I need to use it on a constant basis. The best free version of Anti-Malware would be Ewido Security Suite. Here's a free download. It's not a trial so don't worry. http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ Right now, since Ad-Aware SE Professional is the best, they offer a trial! I would recommend downloading it and running a scan, it also comes with Ad-Watch that blocks any incoming malicious shit while you're computer is running. http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-1 Quote Taking it up the poopchute from Allah since 1990.
