Brazilian police recommended corruption charges against former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Friday as part of a probe into a huge embezzlement scheme at state oil company Petrobras. The decision was the latest in a series of blows for Lula and his suspended successor Dilma Rousseff as they battle to stop their once-mighty Workers' Party from crumbling.
