Paulo Orlando grew up in Sao Paulo wanting to play football, but a chance discovery of baseball led to a love affair that has him making World Series history. The 29-year-old outfielder for the Kansas City Royals is the first Brazilian to play in the World Series, the rookie having helped his club jump ahead of the New York Mets in the best-of-seven championship final. "I feel a great pride to have reached the majors and especially being the first of my country to participate in a World Series," Orlando said.
