Arcade Fire - Neon Bible

The Besnard Lakes - The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse

The Dears - Gang of Losers

Julie Doiron - Woke Myself Up

Feist - The Reminder

Junior Boys - So This Is Goodbye

Miracle Fortress - Five Roses

Joel Plaskett Emergency - Ashtray Rock

Chan VanGaalen - Skelliconnection

Patrick Watson - Close to Paradise

Some decent to ok choices; however, Junior Boys and The Besnard Lakes are the best choices in my opinion. I can't really stand Neon Bible to be honest. I thought a few songs were ok at first, but then I started to resent that album more and more over the year.

Anyhow.........Junior Boys better win. I love "So This Is Goodbye". Made the #3 spot for my favourite albums of last year, but has climbed to number 2 over time. [:-}

What's your choice?

They should give an award to the AF guy that yells in the megaphone during preformances! Otherwise I haven't heard of any of these people

I wouldn't give a price to any of those to be honest

but I guess Arcade Fire has good chances to win

U know how prizes are often meant to be given to those most able at what they do (except music awards, movie awards, etc.) this is like the Karma for us, it's like one of the more accurate awards out there! These are brilliant canadian bands (some just being good) still all of them make Avril should be hit by an Anvil Lavigene look like the 2cent talentless hussey she really is.

Just checked out that Juniour Boys CD now thats some damned fine electronic/trance music =D me likes
I wouldn't say it's trance, but yeah it's definitely got a very dark and atmospheric dance and electronic feel. I included one of their songs from this album on the 00-07 mix. Did you not notice?

I really dig the concept and theme of the album as well. This is how I may feel as I grow older and my taste in woman grow younger.

Absolutely love the way "First Time" and "When No One Cares" fade out. And "FM" is **** beautiful and depressing. "Like A Child" and "Double Shadow" are some of the catchiest songs ever.
