Crazy Taff McViolent
Have I drawn you in? I couldnt think of anything more interesting to call it, to be be honest. But anyway, I want to talk to you about Astrology. I am fascinated by astology. I like to think of myself as a bit of an amateur psychologist. I'm fascinated by people, the way the work, the way they react to other people, why some people are more tolerant than others, why some people seem "wiser" than others and why some people behave younger than their years. Its quite an eclectic mix of clinical psychology (NLP, hypnotherapy, gestalt therapy etc.), spirituality (struggle for power, aura's, energy tranference, age of souls etc.), and astology. If anyone has any opinions on anything mentioned above as well, please post below. I'd be interested. But back to the point. Astrology. I'm not some sort of weird hippy druid, dancing naked around some sort of god knows what. But I am convinced, through my own scientifically based experience, that people tend to fall into the zodiacal signs. Dont get me wrong, I am thoroughly against textbook labelling of people. Everyone is individual. But for example, I have noticed that people of their particular group tend to gravitate towards their own. Have a look below... Air - Gemini, Libra, Aquarius. Earth - Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. Water - Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces. Fire - Aries, Leo, Sagittarius . Which one are you? Which one is your partner? Which one is your closest friend? Which one do you get on with best? What do you reckon?

manicmonday
I'm scorpio and while I don't subscribe to the theory of astronomy, I've been told I very much act like one. I can see the tendancies for certain behaviors. As far as people looking up their horoscope everyday to see if they should get out of bed, bogus. Crazy Taff McViolent
Haha! Yes, I completely agree with on daily horoscopes. They are shit. Some of them might be right, I believe in astrology after all, but even I cant find one that isnt a load of shit. Or rather, absolutly correct. What am I talking about? Attributes. Thats what I'm talking about and its the strongest sceptical arguement against astrology. For example... "Scorpio - Today you feel closer to a loved one and you are fortunate with money. Someone whose name begins with "J" plays a special role". Imagine I read that in the paper, but mistakenly read the wrong starsign. Whether I was Scorpio or not, I might have been bought a drink at lunch from my workmate Jim, and come home to a big kiss. My god, I might have said. My stars today were spot on! Anyone can attribute such scant details to themselves. Your right. That side of it is complete rubbish. I'm more interested in the people side of it. But sceptics can still apply the above. Anyone can say "I'm a typical Aries, headstrong, succesfull, alpha male etc.". Because thats want people want to believe. HOWEVER, my argument is this, which usually leave most sceptics slightly diminished. Not to say they believe in it, they still refuse, but they have less of an argument. After talking to a complete stranger for about 5 minutes, I can usually predict their starsign with a high degree of success. I have demonstrated this, usually out and about and quite pissed, many times. In fact, its the first thing I do when meeting people anyway. Work out the odds for yourself. BTW, I love Scorpio's. I find them the most rewarding people to get to know. I enjoy the huge challenge of getting them to open up to me and relax. They are absurdly silly at times, yet are the most enriching conversationalist, expressing their views with an admirable passion.

Crazy Taff McViolent
Its not a "gift". Don't patronise me. It's an observation. I enjoy interacting with people and what I've said above is simply one interpretation of people's behaviour patterns. I thought this forum was a place for people to exercise intelligent debate, not for someone to project their own insecurities upon others. It's unusual for a Scorpio to feel inferior, let alone feel the need to patronise. It's ironic really, because I said I love Scorpio's. The main reason being is you can have a real, in depth conversation with them, devoid of human nature's weaknesses, and entirely objective. You change all that, and in a sick twist of fate, destroy everything I know about astrology. In fact, I'm rapidly thinking this whole starsign thing is a crock. But then in a clever sort of way, thats exactly the sort of thing a Scorpio would do.....

This forum is for free speech, whether that be to put someone else down, to build your self up, to let off steam, whatever, it's free speech. You expressed your free speech and in exchange, I am doing the same. I like to size people up as well when I meet them, I just don't connect the dots with astrology. So you think that since I'm scorpio, I'm out to "change the perspective at all costs". Probably right. So, here's my perception of you and correct when and where I'm wrong. I see you thinking you would make a huge splash on this board with a different view. And you did, but not in a good "stab you in the eye kind of way". So now you've come back (which takes nerve, btw) and want to make a splash still, but at a different angle. Which is great. However, this board is an ecclectic group of people who don't go by the standard rules of debate boards. We will cut you down, smack you, spank you and give you rep whether we agree with you or not. Getting to know a little about each poster and what they believe or don't believe goes ALONG way with this board. Saying what you want to say in a clear way whether we like it or not will get you "in the popular group handshake and all". Your first post in this thread was a step in the right direction. Crazy Taff McViolent
Hang on! I thought I was the one who pissed on proper debate and release some sort hellish statement that basically said "I'm bored of everything you lot are talking about, have an injection of crunch!". God! I can see how fucking annoying I was/possibly still am. Enter the arena of beef with something decent to say or be banished to a land where shiny beef nuggets arent polished with such vigour. I feel I've become some sort of hybrid between my former shit speaking self (which I do still love), and my newly found side of sensible intellectual debator extraordinaire! Much as I'd love to continue with the beef nuggetry, I think we should all return to the scorchingly intense intensity of the exchange of views above! It was just about to get good! Bring it on!!!! You have summed me up pretty damn well. Thank you for taking the time to post it all. You are very perceptive. One of the greatest things someone can do for me is show they understand me, whether its good or bad. Can I ask favour? I love talking to people and really want to post loads of stuff. But I'll be honest, and I know it sounds a bit crap, and probably not what I should be saying on here, but I dont really have much opinion on much of the stuff posted on here! I am interested in whats going on the world, and one opinion I do have is that Bush needs a stab in the you know what, but I to be honest, I dont really care. Let everyone get on with whatever they're doing, wherever they're doing it. I know thats a bit crap and you probably think I'm a spineless wanker, but I'm telling you the truth. I hope I've proved I can hold my own when it comes down to it, I really live for a good old convo, I'm so bored of fucking grey people who's epitomy of spine-tingling tantalising conversation is in fact idle fucking chit chat. My real passion is people, as I've said before and I love discussing anything to do with real people at a human level. I think I've analyzed just about everything to do with people, and whether its just interacting with someone having a jolly good chinwag, or chewing over the pro's and con's of human nature, its that sort of thing that keeps me ticking over. I guess instead of giving my opinion and getting involved in the substance of matter at hand, I prefer to observe and discuss the very nature of the transaction. Does that make sense? Therefore, my favour I ask of you is this. How can I get involved on this message board? Have you any tips I could follow? What can I do now to further myself in the world of debate forums? What can I do now to further myself in the world of debate forums? We will debate anything on here. Or talk about anything. If you want to talk about human dynamics and how it affects the world, start a thread about it. If it doesn't get alot of responses, don't worry about it. Eventually you'll find your spot. It doesn't happen over night. Hell, I've been here a few months and I'm only now starting to show up on the radar. You said it yourself, it's not all about you. Start a thread, and go with it. Quarky1.0
I'm also a scorpio, but what most people don't realize there are three aspects to each star sign. With the scorpio they are: Snake Scorpion Eagle Each star sign has the three aspects, there are a number of tests you can give someone to determine which they are. I was into astrology and damn good at it, but when I did a readying and it came back telling my mum was about to die, which happened around two weeks later, I stopped and haven't picked up a book since. Wow! I havent heard of that. I'm intrigued to the max! What do these aspects mean/represent? What are these tests? I'd love to ask you what the three aspects for each sign are, but I realise thats probably a hell of a lot of typing. Are they related in any way to power animals from shamanistic beliefs? Tell me more! I'm sorry to hear about your Mum. Were you doing a reading of your own birth chart? You seem to know a lot more about the subject than me so please forgive my ignorance. I have always thought of astrology as a good guide to the way people work, and at the very most, a very rough predictiveness (see above about attributes). I have never heard of astrology alone predicting such a specific event in the future. Could it maybe have been other exterior factors giving you this message? Maybe from the more spiritual side of things? I dont mean to patronise or doubt you at all, especially with such an intensly sensitive subject, but I'm really interested in how it happened, and hopefully learn things I never even knew about from you. Fairly consistant, but not near grounds enough for actual basis of belief. Well, according to my book, Hugo's horoscope thingy is as follows: He is a cautious and stable character. He is easy to be with, as he will do his best to make you relax in his compoany. The Bull (Taurus) is more physical than mental, while the Dog (Chinese atrology shit) can be dedicated and generous to others. A Taurean Dog will form a person blessed with great endurance and warmth of affection; openly honest and never too advanced in his or her thinking to stop and consider another person's point of view. Positive, active and cheerful of outlook, he wil try his best to please, while keeping a sensible outlook for his own interests. ...... scratches head I think this book is a bit off the mark. //edit// Hmm, in another paragraph, it all says about hugo, Vigilant and careful, he will appreciate the proper use of money and power and have a fixed scale of values from which he seldom deviates. He will understand how to inspire others and instruct them wisely. yhet because of his high moral standards and unfailing idealism, he tends to overperform and may demand dxcessive dedication and loyalty from others. Bahaha, it also says about me and hugo's star signs: "Serious clashes and strong conflicts. Cannot comprehend or trust each other. Highly incompatible. Cannot see eye to eye. Unable to resove differences."
Quarky1.0
sorry by aspects I was refering to the differnt type of the scoripo nature these types are, I had a look in my old books and found the true five aspects to the scorpio. the Scorpion: which symbolises the hotheaded warrior who is violently passionate, bluntly sarcastic, egotistical, controlling and manipulative. This is the lowest type of scorpio, if someone has more of these behaviours in them, run, if you are involved with a scorpio of this nature, you better like abuse. The soaring Eagle: This is the second type, it represents the calm but intense, focused, determined, intuitive and perceptive Scorpio who often develops healing, clairvoyant and counselling abilities. A scorpio with more of these personnality traits is more likely to become a doctor or nurse and take great joy in helping the sick. The third is the sacret Serpent, an Egyptian emblem of cosmic wisdom, was grounded in earthly reality, but penetrated the higher levels of consciousness. The serpent periodically sheds outworn habits, beliefs and illusions to facilitate growth through rebirth. A scorpio who is more serpent, say they smoke one day, can just quit the next and never look back, they can also throw away old habbits, freinds and even family. The forth is the Phoenix, they're confident, courageous, positive transformer that transcends personal ego. This is the scorpio you need to watch out for, because if they have some of the phoenix and scorpio in there nature they can really fuck you up, manipulate you into doing what ever they want. But if they have more of the serpent and eagle, then its a different story, they'll be motivated, faithful and a true friend. The final one is the sympathetic, generous Dove, natural healer, infused with love which it transmits to others. These are the type of scorpio that walks into a room and people are drawn to them, they are smooth talkers, helpers are heart and will do anything for a friend. However if you show them disregard or disrespect for the help they have given you, well its your fault what will happen next. As to how and when the reading fortelling my nums passing happened, I was doing a readying for a friend, I also used I-ching in conjuncton with the zodiac readying, some people use tarot cards, I prefered I-ching. The reading I got was in typical criptic form, but it went along the lines of. The mother hold and bonds the family, her absence will reform the family and enable them to move on. 2 days later my mum went into hospital for a routine gallbladder operation, she suffered cascade organ failure and was dead two weeks later. That is why I no longer do readyings, I don't want to know when someone else close to me is going to die.
cynthiaa89
Well, I'm a Scorpio, and I honestly had no idea what exactly all this meant 3 or 4 years ago. I thought astrology was extremely stupid until one day I bought this book on the Zodiac, read it, and it basically told me everything I already knew was true about myself. I fit the description of a Scorpio perfectly unfortuntely. I've dated 3 Aquarius' as weird as that is, and my best friend is a Libra. I tend to not get along with other Scorpios, also. As you know, I'm quite into my Astrology but purely to aid my understanding of people. I have complete belief in readings of most forms, but I would never have a reading done for myself, or advise anyone close to me to have one. I dont want to know what might happen in the future and I dont think people should do. That is only an opinion mind, some people would love to know what happens to them. I dont want to. Life is what you make it, not what you've been told its going to be. You say you havent picked up any books on the subject since the death of your mother. I'm sure you know that reading didnt cause the death of your mother. It simply foretold it. You seem to want to avoid continuing to learn more about these subjects because of the association it has for you, yet you obviously have a strong belief and great knowledge in this area because of your honest whole-hearted post on this thread. Read your books and read more books. Just dont do readings. They dont help anyone. BTW, can I ask you which book contains the aspects of the signs? I am incredibly fascinated by these! I am a Libra (dont tell anyone). Can you tell me some of my aspects?
