codec mp3/mpeg layer III (55) loss with error code c00d10d1 from media player11

Hello Im wondering how I can download a codec for my windows media player so it can play mp3s and mpegs again. Ive tried looking for it online, but there are so many spams that Im leary as to download it. Also Im wondering if this missing codec will render places like YouTube and other like sites from playing videos without audio. Ive tried uninstalling and re-installing media player, and updating it, to no avail. I also have enabled automatic installer to install any and all missing codecs when I boot up.

Any and all help will be appreicated.

I have thousands of mp3s on my media player that I cannot listen to now.
