I have a user account that has the wrong name, so I renamed it however the

C:/Users/<name> is still the old name.

How do I change the name of the C:/Users/<name> folder to match the new name

?

I have also tried creating a new user account and copying the original

profile into the new account.

However when I try to logon to the new account vistal logs me off straight

away.

Any ideas please ?

Hi Michael,

The only way to change the "C:\Users\(user name)" folder name is to

reinstall Vista or recreate another user account and delete the old one

from within the new one. When you delete the old one you will have the

option to "Keep Files". This will save everything the old user account

user folders in a folder on the desktop of the new account. If this is

going to be your only account, then make sure it is a administrator

account when you create the new one.

Hope this helps,

Shawn
