Last March Scherzer turned down a $160 million deal that would have extended his tenure with the Detroit Tigers. Over his career, Scherzer has posted a 91-50 record and a 3.58 earned run average (ERA) in 207 games (198 starts). The 30-year-old right-hander broke into the major leagues in 2008 with the Arizona Diamondbacks and also played for them in 2009 before being dealt to Detroit. Continue reading...
