The re-make of the former leading content management system for RuneScape private servers!

The official development thread of AbyssalCMS

Abyssal is a content management system (CMS) made for runescape private servers. The CMS is currently in development and we will update the post throughout the development of AbyssalCMS.

About AbyssalCMS

AbyssalCMS is the re-make of former leading runscape private server CMS MikeRSWeb. AbyssalCMS is scripted in object oriented PHP by Mikelmao and by Halcyon. We are the founders and developers of AbyssalCMS.

What's special about AbyssalCMS?

AbyssalCMS uses your runescape private server's character files. The system can read from those files and use them on the website, and make changes to those files. With AbyssalCMS it's made possible to easily update your in-game users, view information about users and of course manage your website.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Can't runescape sue me because my website looks like theirs?

Answer: No, it's not their page, this is based on the runescape layout and these are our own images, this is our own CSS and this is our HTML and PHP.

This sounds quite nice, good luck with development!

You should add both MySQL and flatfile character handling :p

Yeah, I just spoke to Mike on MSN and its being made for flatfile servers.

It will be nice to see a system using flatfile xD

Its certainly pioneering, considering the amount of flatfile private servers and how little MySQL-supported servers are out there.

Yea, it's also an advantage serverside as sometimes flatfile loads faster than MySQL because it doesn't have to connect and write to a database.

I think the point of the CMS is to avoid the use of MySQL.
No, We are ganna use MySQL for some features like news and stuff and were ganna use flat files for user managment and stuff.

Oh, right. Why not try the news stuff with flatfile also? I've seen flatfile news systems before.

Ach, fairplay. I just think it'd be more popular if it's either completely MySQL or completely flatfile.

Whats special about AbyssalCMS is that it works with your server's character files, Were ganna make the things that dont require the user character file's MySQL.
