Do password stealers come back after removal?

I forgot the exact name, but I know what exact website it came from (ask me to list it if requested.) As soon as I dowloaded this thing, Microsoft Security Essentials removed a password stealer. But then, a day later, when I performed a scan, it detected the same thing again. What should I do?
